Castle of Illusion is a Disney licensed action platform game starring Mickey Mouse as the main playable character. As something of a cliché for games of this nature Mickey has to rescue his girlfriend Minnie who has been kidnapped by the evil witch Mizrabel. While not particularly original it is the tried and tested formula. The game also involves having to collect seven magical crystals, though bear in mind that this game predates Sonic the Hedgehog. The Game starts with Mickey and Minnie happy, in their own little world, then along comes Witch Mizrabel, and takes Minnie away, jelous of Minnies beauty and popularity, she takes her to her castle where she will use her powers of illusion to make herself look like Minnie and make Minnie look like her if she isnt rescued in time. Castle of illusion is a rather polished side scrolling platform game for Sega Mega Drive and Amiga, and whilst nothing groundbreaking it remains a solid little game. The game sees you playing as Mickey Mouse, ona quest to rescue Minnie from the clutches of an evil witch, working your way through numerous levels including an enchanted forest, toyland world, spooky gothic castle, a giant's library, and across gloomy mountains complete with thunder and lightning and creaky rope bridges.
