* Fidel Castrol Oil? . . .

Advantages: Very good oil.
Disadvantages: Can be expensive depending where you buy.

...a Diesel, you will need Castrol GTD,

According to Castrol's adverts, "Magnatec" combines Intelligent Molecules with part synthetic technology for a stronger layer of protection. Castrol Magnatec keeps the car at it's peak for longer. The name "Magnatec" suggesting the oil is magnetic, making it stick to the metal parts of your engine, even after a long cool down. Although that isn't strictly true, the oil will ...
...it is supposed to be a good thing.

It is supposed to provides more protection than other oils, especially during the critical start up period, This is because 90% of your engine wear, occurs during the first 10% of the driving time. In Winter the problem is worse.
This oil is designed to cling to your engine parts, forming a layer that will protect your engine during the start up period and beyond.

*Castor oil? NO, Castrol oil! . . .

Advantages: A very good quality oil.
Disadvantages: Has to be paid for.

This oil is Castrol GTX, which stands for - errr - OK it doesn't actually stand for anything really. Anyway, so this is suitable for all Petrol engines, including ones fitted with a Turbocharger, If you have a Diesel, you will require Castrol GTD. I do recommend this oil, and if buying, I would advise shopping around at local Motor accessory shops, and Supermarkets and DIY Superstores, where you will find bargains. Castrol have their own website of course, have a look at it here:- Castrol GTX 10W/40 http://www.castrol.co.uk This oil is a 10W40, and if you are wondering what these figures mean, read on. The first figure, "10" simply means that this oil can be pumped by your oil pump just as well as any other single grade SAE 10 oil can be pumped. The "W" means that the oil is suitable for Winter conditions, this is because ...

Review of Castrol GTX 10w-40 Engine Oil meets ACEA A3/B3

*Magnetic oil? Oily magnet? . . .

Advantages: Good stuff, better website.
Disadvantages: It can "Cost the Earth"

Firstly something for the ladies, it comes in a stunning red, and rather fetching green coloured beautiful container - Sorry, just joking. Seriously there is a lot on the Castrol website that you girls may want to read. It tells you in simple terms how engines work, with flash animations and simple descriptions. So the next time your Hubby or Boyfriend asks you if you like the "red one or the yellow one" you can tell him "Go for the red one, because it has the turbo, giving it a lot more torque low down in the rev range". It also tells you about changing oil, and other topics like tyre care etc. There is also a section on chosing a car, and simple checks. See the website here:-http://www.castrol.co.uk Also on the site, the blokes will find some rather cool info on football, and motorsport. There is a lot on Moto GP, V8 Supercars, DTM ...
