I've had mixed experiences with the TIGI brand. I've tried quite a few of their products and although I tend to like the shampoo and conditioners, I haven't had such positive experiences of the styling products I have tried. Even so, when I spotted their Camera Ready spray, I couldn't resist trying it. Described as a shiner and defrizzer, it sounded like it was just what I needed!

I think most people want their hair to be shiny, as shiny hair looks healthy and vibrant and let's face it, more attractive than hair that's dull and lifeless. I was also attracted to the 'de-frizzing' claims the product made as when dried naturally my hair is fairly frizzy which is not a good look! With the bottle promising 'silky, shiny, smell so good hair' I couldn't wait to try this out.

As with most of the TIGI range the product comes packaged in bright, funky packaging. The bottle is a vibrant bright blue and the curved design makes it comfortable to hold. It's non-aerosol and has a simple pump spray.

There are no directions for use on the bottle, so I simply spray it over my finished style as I would with any other shine spray.

The first thing I noticed about it was the smell. Most of the TIGI products smell really nice, but I really didn't like this one. It's hard to describe what it smells like, but the best comparison I can think of is liquorice! It's quite a strong smell and it stays in my hair for ages. Perhaps it's just a matter of taste, but I really wasn't impressed by this, scent wise. In fact I have only used a fairly small amount of the product so far and it is the smell alone that puts me off - I just can't stand it!

The spray comes out in a fine mist, and once on I tend to brush it through, or if I have put my hair up, I'll just use my hands to smooth it through a bit, so as not to ruin the style. It feels light in the hair and it doesn't have a sticky or heavy feeling like you sometimes get with hairspray.

Since this claims to be a de-frizzer, I expected it perhaps to give a little bit of hold to my hair where it had smoothed it down, but that wasn't really the case. I did notice my hair felt quite silky, but it wasn't really any less frizzy than usual which I found disappointing.

In terms of shine, again I was incredibly disappointed. It does add some shine, but it is very minimal and not the glossy sheen I was hoping for really. It's certainly not a glamorous, noticeable shine.

The worst thing I ever did with this spray was apply it to wet hair. Trust me when I say that was not a good idea! I found that it made my hair feel incredibly sticky and it looked weighed down and greasy. Unfortunately I had to go out with it looking like that as I needed to take a parcel to the post office and wouldn't have had time to re-wash. I know it was only the post office, but I was incredibly self conscious that my hair looked like it had been dunked in chip fat, and I was cursing this product all the way there and back!

TIGI is a salon brand but I tend to buy my TIGI products online where they are cheaper. Prices vary but you can get it online for £10.55 from Chemist Direct.

Overall I found this to be a very disappointing product. I have now started using TIGI's Bead Head Rush spray which smells nice and is much better for giving shine, so would recommend that one hands down over this.
