(",) FASHIONISTA SHAMPOO (",)
I originally bought this shampoo in a mini gift size set, but I liked it so much that I have repurchased it in a 'normal size' (as pictured above) and subsequently a supersize 750ml pump bottle. The bottle is quite attractive looking providing you like bright colours because as you can see above it comes in a plastic purple opaque bottle - certainly eye catching and in fitting with the rest of the funky packaging in the Tigi ranges. The lid has a pop up function like the cap on a sports drink bottle which makes it easy to undo and close even when your hands are wet. The supersize bottle I own differs to this in that all the supersize bottles are the same no matter which shampoo you buy - clear plastic with a large pump on top. Both are easy to use, even near the end of the bottle due to the relatively runny, not overly thick, texture of the shampoo.
Using the shampoo is obviously different to no other - just wet your hair, lather up and then rinse. I find that you don't need to use as much shampoo when you use Tigi products as you would when using a cheaper supermarket type brand due to the fact that they are very rich and produce a lot of lather from a small amount of shampoo, though not overly soapy like some shampoos. It feels rich and moisturising as you massage it around your scalp and you never experience that odd 'squeaky' feeling that you get when shampoos are overly drying. Oh, and before I forget, I must mention the scent! It is AMAZING. If ever you've wanted that fruity salon smell without going to the salon, this is IT. It smells like forest fruits and berries - I doubt there would be many girls that'd dislike the scent - and YES it does stay on your hair until the next time you wash it (something I've always wanted but never found until now).
When you're done with the lathering the shampoo rinses out easily, and it also appears to be a very effective detangler. It actually detangles my hair better than some conditioners have - so this would be worth considering for anyone with dry or colour treated hair, especially highlights as I find my hair can get in a right dry tangled state when it's been bleach treated.
Given that I own both the shampoo and conditioner I normally use them as a duo but I have used it a fair few times with other random conditioners of a lesser quality and still found the results to be very good.
IT CLAIMS:
"Gentle enough for every day use" - I don't wash my hair every day but I find this to be a moisturising and gentle shampoo so I think it would definitely be fine for every day use should you wish to use it that way
"Colour safe" - As far as a shampoo can be colour safe I think that this is. Anything that is overly stripping or drying is NOT colour safe, and that doesn't apply to this shampoo.
"Repairs" - What do they really mean when they say 'repairs'? I haven't noticed extra split ends or roughness of my hair so I think it maintains hair condition well.
"Promotes shine" - Definitely! If I want my hair to be extra shiny I use this shampoo (I have a collection of about 5, haha, so yes there is a choice to be made!)
"Anti static" - I never really thought my hair was prone to static but I find that with some shampoos and conditioners my hair does get static - it doesn't happen with this one so I guess it is anti static.
"UV & Heat protective" - I'm unsure as to how you'd tell how UV protection is working on your hair. Heat-wise my hair hasn't suffered much for me using my GHD irons alongside this shampoo so I guess every little bit helps.
OVERALL RESULTS
Now that I've been using this shampoo for a while I know what to expect when I use it. I have dark, mildly colour treated sleek long hair which has a tendency to go slightly greasy on the scalp if I use overly heavy products. When I use this shampoo it brings out my colour nicely because it seems to be an effective cleanser removing dullness and making my hair shiny and very soft again. It also detangles really well so it's very rare I find any knots in my hair. As I mentioned before it leaves a wonderful scent on my hair until the next time I wash it (something my boyfriend also likes!) With this shampoo I can get away with not blow drying my hair if I wish, because it doesn't go frizzy or strange in any way. If I do blow dry it it gives a little extra volume but it isn't really necessary all the time.
I would say that this keeps my hair perfectly clean for two days, which is the normal time frame for me washing my hair and it still looks good at the end of the second day. The thing I find most impressive about this shampoo is that whilst it is very moisturising it's not heavy and doesn't make my hair lank or greasy like other 'moisturising' hair products often do.
Compared with the other Tigi shampoos I would say it's probably joint best with Manipulator for my hair type. I've not been particularly impressed by Self Absorbed or Dumb Blonde but this could be down to hair type and personal preference (I just can't get over the amazing smell!)
The only downside to this, for me, is that it's not particularly volumising, Manipulator is better for that so I generally swap between the two depending on how I want my hair to look - sleeker or BIGGER :) If you have a similar hair type to mine (or drier/ more colour treated) and find this in your price range it's definitely worth a try.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
A 'normal' size 350ml bottle will cost you £7.50, which I admit isn't cheap but it does what it claims to do. If you're lucky enough to find the supersize 750ml bottles for sale (they don't always have them stocked everywhere) it'll cost you £15 which isn't amazing value (conditioner is better value because it's the same size and price but normally costs a lot more) but I will be using this shampoo for a while so it was convenient for me to buy it.

selling large salon sized bottles of the shampoo for much cheaper. I ended up buying a 750ml bottle of Shampoo and Conditioner for £18 (including postage) I chose this particular one as many of the others seemed to be designed for problem hair (the 'Bedhead' range) and also this one is designed for colour treated hair, which seemed perfect for my new dark hair colour.

The bottles are really tall and are clear with a big blue C with 'CatwalkTigi' written though it. Other than that there isn't any writing on the front of the bottle, which makes it look a bit plain, however it does look professional. They both came with pump dispensers, which I have found really easy to use in the bath and shower. The benefit of these is that you can decide how much to use as it doesn't come out too fast, unlike some ordinary bottles ...
Advantages: keeps colour amazingly well, leaves hair soft and shiny Disadvantages: a little pricey
I bought a bottle each of TIGIFashionistashampoo and conditioner with some left over Amazon vouchers a few months ago. I bought myself the 750ml salon sizes, which are huge, and I have been using them since around October, and still have a little bit left - and yes, I do wash my hair regularly!
Given the price and the sizes of the bottles, I was hoping I would like these products. I have never purchased TIGI products before, but my hairdresser always uses them on me, and then tries to sell them to me afterwards!
The Fashionistashampoo is designed especially for coloured hair. I have dyed dark brown hair, and usually find that the colour begins to fade out within about six weeks, so I like to use something that will keep the colour looking fresh.
As I mentioned, I bought the huge bottles, which are the same lilac colour as ...
Advantages: suitable for all hair types; made my hair lightweight, moisturised, silky/shiny and manageable Disadvantages: expensive
Washing, drying and styling my hair is always a hard chore to do, so in order to get the job well done, I know I should have the best quality shampoo, conditioner and styling products.
TIGICATWALKFASHIONISTA CONDITIONER
I mentioned in a previous review that I have used TIGICatwalkFashionistashampoo; no good shampoo can go without a decent good quality conditioner. To have the best result on your hair always use the same brand for shampoo and conditioner, they complete each other's work.
This conditioner is mainly for thick, hard to manage, coloured and chemically treated hair; my hair is very thick and I have a few highlighted strips to add some life to my very dark hair; also my hair is quite long and needs special care. As I have rarely had it cut, you can imagine how long it is!
