I am so happy and I no longer feel let out, I can't actually believe that the ciao product of the week is something that I can really comment on!

My story starts, with my best friend colouring my hair for me, every six months she does my highlights, and she did them a few days before I went away a few months ago.
Whilst doing my hair we were talking about the care that I should take of it whilst away. I know that colour can fade and change colour but I did not realise that when you bleach tour hair the colour doesn't necessarily stay consistent or even (who'd have thought the adverts were telling the truth).
Anyway, my best friend recommended the catwalk brand and pointed me in the direction of a local salon which sold the brand, and not knowing anything about them I bought a few different products. One of which was the catwalk fasionista shampoo… it advertised as something to protect and enhance colour, prevent and repair damage and protect from uv rays. Sounded perfect for my holiday as I knew that I would be consistently in the sun and swimming pool.

Intro - Catwalk is a brand which is part of the Tigi family, and is one of the BedHead products, which has been going for a few years now and has been advertised in the media as a modern, trendy and young product for hair.
Tigi products are not tested on animals and they try to make sure that none of their ingredients have been either.

The animal testing thing is a big one for me. I only need to walk into super drug to realise how many different bloody shampoos there are nowadays, different brands, smells, for different hair types, etc. I think they know how to make shampoo after all these years. That is why I find it hard to believe that it is necessary for companies to test hair products on animals and I actually believe that it is doubly cruel because of how unnecessary it is. Knowing that Tigi do not test on animals really boosts my confidence in their moral as a company and in their products as a whole. It's nice to think that it's a brand who thinks along the same lines as me.

Catwalk is a wide range of hair products which includes different shampoos and conditioners, in different funky colours, all with there own unique smell.
Each shampoo has a matching conditioner, hair moose, gel etc making the range complete and targeting it at an age of around 18 - 28. The brand image is colourful and exciting which is why I think that it targets this young age group.

Point one: which I would like to briefly go into, I wasn't particularly pleased that the shampoo advertised to repair hair, as I know for a act that although damaged hair can be made to look better, there is no fixing split ends or stretched hair (usually damaged by bleaching) I think this was the first and main problem with the product, I really dislike it when products over exaggerate themselves!!

Point two: another disadvantage which I didn't mind at the time, was the price, I actually paid six pound for one bottle of shampoo, which I was then told was a sale price. I think for something which will probably last me a week this price is unexplainable. Usually I spent maximum two pound on a much bigger bottle of shampoo (the fashionisa was a 350ml bottle) but in this particular scenario I was desperate not to further damage my hair or allow it to turn green, as highlights sometimes do with over exposure to sun and chlorine. Therefore I paid for it and want too bothered.

Point three: I was impressed with the funky colour of the bottle, although this is a small and pointless matter, I did really like the bottle (sad)
To add to point three, I was informed in the salon that 'catwalk' was a member of the tigi brand which made me feel more secure in buying it as tigi is definitely a brand that I have learnt with past experience to trust.

Point four: to go with the funky colour of the bottle, the shampoo also has a grape smell which they actually call 'grape tart' as interesting as this was, I wasn't keen on the smell, but luckily it doesn't linger after you have washed you hair. (If I enjoyed the smell I would have been disappointed at this and therefore I am noting this as a disadvantage!)

Point five: I understand that so far I have been pretty negative, but after applying the product to my hair in the shower I noticed the advantages straight away, my hair was easier to wash as the shampoo gave it a silky feel whilst wet, this also help when I combed it through when I got out of the shower. When blow-drying my hair, my hair felt thicker and shinier and slightly heavier which made it less fly away and gave it any overall glossy look once dried. My hair looked in better condition and this was the same with every wash.
However, I paired it up with the matching conditioner which I believe strongly contributed to this. But to have silky shiny hair for a week or two, it set me back quite a price.
The overall result was impressive, I ended up coming back from my holiday with my hair in great condition, I truly believe that this shampoo did protect my hair from all o the damaging things that in incurs whilst abroad, the most dangerous of which are sun and sea/swimming pool. My hair as a result was left shiny and the damage from drying and straightening was minimised when I used this shampoo. It really is nice to go out with healthy great looking hair.

When I stopped using this product my hair went back to its dull self after the first wash with a different product, which shows that it does not have long lasting effects. This is a disappointment as I don't know many people who can afford to splash out on such an expensive hair range for consistent use. Which is why, although I was impressed overall I would not use this shampoo again unless it was or another holiday, and I would recommend friends and readers do the same.

Another advantage, would be that not only did my hair stay in great condition, but the colour remained bright and consistent and I came back with my hair looking like it had just been done!! I understand that the product basically does as advertised but im sure there are many other shampoos which do the same that are not as expensive and come in bigger bottles.

I have also since been recommended that I should change shampoos every few months and stick to shampoos which cover all hair types and are not just for colour protection. In my eyes, as long as my hairs clean, im happy, and I don't need to spend over six pound in order to achieve that.

* this story is from over a year ago now, and I have just looked online to see that the price really does vary now, I have seen it on a site advertised at 12 pound, and a different one at 4 pound. I still think this is too expensive and would rather stick to cheaper yet still reliable brands.

As you can probably tell, my opinion is mixed on this product, and actually whilst writing this review, I have been questioning whether I love the shampoo or hate it due to the price, and whether the price should be an aspect in deciding whether its a good product or not???!!!

It is a good product!! Confused?? I think I am!

xx
