This is not the first book I have read of Cecelia Ahern, as she has written many others including 'The Gift', 'Thanks for the Memories', 'If You Could See Me Now', and 'PS I Love You'. Other than PS I Love You, which could be believable enough, her other books, this one included have a realm of fantasy included in it.

This story revolves around Tamara Goodwin, who has just lost her father. She and her mother have had their house repossessed and have had to move in with relatives that they do not know that well.

Tamara comes across as someone who speaks her mind and does not mind being rude to people if they need it. However, I could not help but feel sorry for her as you felt that as well as going through the trauma of losing her father and having to move out of her house, you feel that her relatives, especially her aunt is not that keen on having her around. Tamara probes further into why this could be and is shocked at what she finds (I will not reveal what this discovery is so that I don't give the story away).

You feel that Tamara learns a few lessons while she is there, including the fact that maybe money doesn't buy you happiness, and that friendship is very important. Tamara probably has more in her new life, you feel, because of the good friendships she has made with Wesley and the sister from the convent - her old life revolved around material things that she could buy. She realises very quickly in her new life that friendships that she once had were superficial and were not true friendships.

This is a good book if you like books with a realm of fantasy in them - Tamara inherits a diary which begins to write itself. Other than this, the book could be quite believable, and is an intriguing read. I got my copy from my local library, where you could try too - failing that, you could try ebay or Amazon.
