We'll beat the credit crunch!

Advantages: Looks lovely, keep us warm, free fuel
Disadvantages: A bit of extra cleaning

The stoveman on EBay won this contest with a price of £505 with free courier service to addresses in the UK. Delivery was easily arranged and the fire arrived ready to be fitted. Potterton Suprima 120L

Advantages: Absolutely None whatsoever
Disadvantages: Inefficient, unreliable, extremly costly to repair and potentially very dangerous!!!!! AVOID

The red and green lights started flashing and a loud clicking noise was heard. Tried resetting with the reset button and then by switching the electricity supply to the boiler on and off. No joy. On 9th October 2009 a Salesman came from Northern Gas and quoted us a price for a new boiler, and as we had been without heat and water for two weeks waiting for quotes, and as we are both in our seventies, he said he would try to arrange installation the following week.
