The Accuaratus M9 mouse is made by a company called Ceratech, who have been manufacturing quality technological devices for the PC for 25 years now. Their website is none to brilliant to look at but it has the basics and does look not too bad. This mouse will set up back £8.71 should you wish to purchase it from their website. Mine however was obtained from a gift shop in Livingston for a mere £4.99. Obtained !! that sounds as if I didn't actually pay for it, but I did.
The mouse is available in two different colours black with silver highlights or white with silver highlights both equally as attractive. The connection to your PC can be made by the USB cable attached to the mouse, or by a PS2 adaptor, which is also supplied. The adaptor has a normal PS" connection to the PC port and also has a USB connection on its rear to facilitate the insertion of the mouse cable. The cable is about 1.5 metres long so it is going to be adequate for most users, in fact I really can't see a lot of point in it being much longer, it would become a bit obtrusive.
Using the mouse with your PC system requires simply that you plug it in, switch on and enjoy. I say enjoy and I suppose enjoy is probably the correct description, but it may take a day or two to get used to the new mouse. The mouse is optical therefore there is no traditional mouse ball to get clogged up, this of course also means that the friction and feel of the ball mouse has gone forever. The use of the new mouse is effortless and so much smoother. There are no sudden jumps and the accuracy is superb. The optical specification is that of 800 dpi where dpi is dots per inch, so that will give you an idea of the accuracy.
Although the accuracy is important I always feel that it is the general feel of a mouse is somewhat more important. After all it is apart from your keyboard the main communication with your PC, so you really want it to be comfortable and easy to use, both categories are scoring high for the mouse. It also have a pretty efficient wheel which I reckon is going to be useful to many, I myself seldom use it, I generally just use the side cursor thingymajig whatever.
They do do a wireless version, which I may upgrade to eventually, but I have certainly found this mouse to be quite superior to other less tame versions. A few of the mice I have used in the past were simply wild. The adjustment from a ball mouse to an optical mouse doesn't take that long; it just seems pretty strange at first to have no resistance when moving the mouse. It is also a very nice looking mouse if there is such a thing, the black and silver go very well together, not that the colour is really that important it is the functionality that's reigns. It appears to be quite strongly made and it seems to me sturdy enough to take a few knocks and bashes without causing any serious problems, therefore I conclude by thoroughly recommending it.
