Ready Brek - Old Fashioned Comfort Food!
Advantages: Good vitamin content, nice and creamy, warm and comforting Disadvantages: A nightmare to clean the pans afterwards.
Ready Brek Well there is a bit of a nip in the air and for me that means the Ready Brek comes out to warm me up and keep me going until lunchtime. What's it like? Ready Brek is essentially porridge, but porridge that is finer than coarser porridge oats you can buy on their own. These days it comes in all kinds of varieties from the sachet option (more expensive) so that you don't have to measure the amount you need to a chocolate flavoured ... ...handy little symbols that tell you: # It is microwavable in 90 seconds. # It has no added sugar or salt. # It is fortified with vitamins and minerals. # It uses 100% wholegrain oats. # It is rich in calcium. You need to use 5 heaped dessert spoonfuls (30g) and 150ml of water or milk. You simply add the hot water or milk and mix together. You could then add some fruit or a sprinke of sugar, which is what I do. The blurb tells you that if you have ...

Enormous Health Benefits and at a cheap price.
Advantages: Healthy, Cheap, Filling, Slow Energy Release. Disadvantages: Can be mistaken for wallpaper paste!
Scotts Porage Oats really is a Superfood. Its key benefits are: It lowers cholesterol. Statistically, regular consumption of it significantly lowers the risk in later life of stomach and bowel cancer . It is very filling and unlike many foods because it contains complex carbo-hydrates the energy is released into the body at a slow and steady rate meaning you will not be hungry for a while and you will not have blood sugar highs and lows. It can be ... ...any milk. It is high in dietary fibre, protein and minerals. You can add salt or sugar depending on your taste. You can add berries, nuts, raisins, banana and various other fruits for extra flavour and extra nutritional value. It is a very cheap source of food. This brand is clearly not the cheapest available but it is renowned for its high quality and consistency of product. Perhaps having the branded box in your cupborad will also encourage you ...

Advantages: CHILD LIKE- FUN Disadvantages: COMPETITORS
...cereals out there. Each Kellogg's Rice Krispie is made from a single grain of rice. This means that they are good for you but also have carbohydrates in them which can turn into fat if you do not burn it off. When you are growing up you need lots of energy so I suppose these can be great for children... The ingredients include: Rice, Sugar, Salt, Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Barley Malt Flavouring, Niacin, Iron, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), ... ...= 1618 kcal = 381 Protein (g) = 6 Carbohydrates (g) = 87 You can buy these from all supermarkets and they are usually priced at no more than £2.00. Good Points The good points are that they fill you up, you can make rice krispie cakes with them, they are not too expensive, they are quite good for you and they taste really nice. I love it when children put their ears near the bowl and listen for snap, crackle and pop. Bad Points There are a lot of ...

They may look like cardboard but they don't taste like cardboard!
Advantages: Healthy, filling and wholegrain. Disadvantages: A little boring.
Weetabix are the only cereal that my children will eat, this isn't a bad thing but I sometimes wonder if they get bored of these as they not only have them for breakfast but also for supper. I have brought many different cereals including the mini weetabix but they tend to prefer the normal weetabix. **The Packaging** Weetabix come in a bright golden coloured cardboard box wih eyecatching blue writing across the middle with the word weetabix. At ... ...and the nutritional values. 2 weetabix without milk contains 127kcal and provides you with 32% of the RDA of vitamins and iron. You will also find all the contact details here. On the back of the box there is a little history about weetabix and a serving suggestion. Once the box is open you will find a tower of 12 biscuits in a sealed plastic wrapper. **Price** You can buy weetabix in packs of 12, 24, 36 and 48. On average a 24 pack would set you ...

It really is
Advantages: Quick and easy hot breakfast Disadvantages: Lacking in taste, a bit bland really
...So Simple is made by Quaker Oats. They are the company that since 1899 have been successful and effectively milling oats in the UK. As well as making hot cereals such as Porridge and Oats So Simple they also make cold cereals such as a range of Muesli’s and Granola. While also arguably jumping on the Health concerns bandwagon by producing Oat Bars as well.
Oat So Simple is sold in a variety of sizes but the two most popular are the 360g boxes that ... ...make the dish and a Quaker quality promise.
I found the packet easy to open and inside there are either 10 or 20 sachets containing your cereal. These are all airtight to keep in the goodness in and simply tear to release the oats. Each sachet has directions of how to make the product.
Ingredients:
Quaker Wholegrain rolled oats, Stabilser: Lecithin (Soya)
Allergy Advice:
This product may contain traces of wheat and barley.
