My daughter has a lovely Staffordshire Bull Terrier and his name is Mampi Swift, he sometimes comes to visit us and stay for the n night, if she and her boyfriend are going out so that he’s not alone all night and at times like these he like to get a little treat. His favourite is Cesar Canine Cuisine.
Cesar comes in a little tin which is 150g per tray and there are quite a few different flavours to choose from. Mampi loves the T-bone Steak flavour and will sit patiently until you have opened the tray and put it in his dog dish then he waits until you say he can have it before devouring the lot in about five seconds flat. The other flavours are Porthouse Steak, Beef, Braised Beef and Vegetables, Lamb, Top Sirloin, Pork Tenderloin and the new breakfast flavours of Smoked Bacon and Eggs.
There’s also a Chicken, Chicken and Liver, Chicken and Bacon and lots more to list. They really are gourmet food for dogs. A little special for that nice treat every now and again.
At the moment it’s on offer at our local Co-op and the price is £9.99 for a 12 pack, I think this is a bargain as I don’t feed it him often and use it as a treat so that’s 12 treats for him when he comes to stay. I’m sure if you have a small dog then this would work out expensive to feed it them every day. The meat in the trays is in small chunks set in jellied gravy, so it’s easy for your dog to digest. However, some dogs have sensitive stomachs and this is quite a rich diet for a little dog and could cause them to have a tummy upset, or even worse they could have smelly farts for the rest of the day. I have to stick to the meat recipes of this brand with my daughters Staffie as he has to be careful what he eats, if he has the Chicken recopies then he will fart a lot and stink the place out, not to mention gassing us all in the car when he’s on his way home.
The ingredients of his favourite T-bone Steak dish is :-
T-Bone Steak Flavour SUFFICIENT WATER FOR PROCESSING, BEEF BY-PRODUCTS, LIVER, MEAT BY-PRODUCTS, BEEF, CHICKEN BY-PRODUCTS, CALCIUM CARBONATE, NATURAL FLAVORS, SODIUM TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE, CARAMEL COLORING, CARRAGEENAN, DRIED YAM, XANTHAN GUM, POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, SALT, ERYTHORBIC ACID, T-BONE STEAK FLAVOR, GUAR GUM, ZINC SULFATE, SODIUM NITRITE (FOR COLOR RETENTION), VITAMIN A, D3, AND E SUPPLEMENTS, D-CALCIUM PANTOTHENATE, THIAMINE MONONITRATE (VITAMIN B1).
Metabolizable Energy: 24 kcals per ounce, 90 kcals per 3.5 oz. (100 g) tray
Guaranteed Analysis: Crude Protein, Min 8% Crude Fat, Min 3.5% Crude Fiber, Max 1% Moisture, Max 82%
The tins are quite cute with a little west highland white terrier on the fronts, each pack is a different colour depending on which flavour you buy for your doggie.
For a little treat I would recommend using this brand, but to be honest, it’s expensive for everyday use. I prefer to feed a dry dog food with meat and tinned dog food as treats added in.
