Advantages: good amount of heat Disadvantages: takes a while to heat room up
...Having no central heating and no money to install it, I had to buy heaters for every room in my house - enter the ChallengeOilFilled Column Radiator.
I had already bought Dimplex OilFilled Column Radiators for my bedrooms which are double the price of the ChallengeOilRadiator but needed one for my hall.
I bought the Challenge OFCR (OilFilled Column Radiator) from Argos on sale at #19.99 and is normally #29.99. It has two options of heat settings and a temperature dial which you can adjust accordingly.
The OFCR is on wheels which you have to put on yourself (which takes a minute or so) so it is easily moved around if required. Its asort of light beige colour with bright orange dials for heat and temperature control which is not the best colour option for them to go for!
The Dimplex OFCR is the same design - on wheels which you...

Advantages: Easy to use, heats small to medium sized room quickly Disadvantages: Upon first use, the heater can smell for a few hours, nothing major!
...The Micromark MM30127 is a nice little radiator, it is light and compact and sits nicely and doesn't look out of place in any room. Due to the size of it being quite small, the heater can be moved or stowed away with ease using the hand grip at the control side. The 1Kwoilfilledradiator heats a small to medium sized room up quite quickly. The radiator also boasts a climate control thermostat dial which is useful to control the temperature to suit and a red neon indicator to tell the user when the heater is switched on or off. All in all it is a bargain heater that, dare I say it, "does exactly what it says on the tin". From the box, the only thing to assemble is a foot to the heater which easily snaps in place....

Advantages: Thermostat, regulated temperature, quick heat, good price Disadvantages: No timer, not suitable for small rooms
...When we purchased our flat in May 2006, it was the middle of summer, and hence the flat, which received direct sunlight for ¾ of the day, was very warm. However as the months passed, and the summer warmth faded we found ourselves resorting to the panel heaters installed in the flat. These panel heaters weren't very reliable and produced limited heat, mainly within a 2 metre span from the heat source, not very useful when you're trying to heat a large bedroom and living room. Having browsed through the Argos catalogue for an alternative heat supply, we decided on purchasing a Delonghi OilFilledRadiator, currently available for £44.99.
The Delonghi brand name is synonymous style, living innovation and successful products, so we were perfectly happy to choose this brand over another. The radiator we chose has the following key features...

Pros: very precise and small wheel, stays fixed almost perfectly on the table
Cons: absurdly fragile wheel, only suitable for small children (read below)

I must admit I'm a bit of a romantic, I've read every one Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe books, and already owned the Sharpe boxset on DVD. So when Sharpe's Challenge was advertised on the TV I was looking forward to watching it. Sadly, due to a family... more

I may only be 22 years old and not yet have to worry about the effects of ageing but I still do as through media articles it's always shoved in your face on a daily basis.

I wanted to play this game as soon as I heard about it, and I wasn't let down; it's really fun and addictive. But it's severely flawed, to the point that it could turn a lot of people off to it. Still, it stands as a shining example of the kinds of cool... more
