Is this the best in the series? It cannot be doubted that if you want an intrduction to the unbeatable Championship Eidos series, this is the one to choose.
It is not quite as comprehensive as CM4 but, if you don't have a very fast computer, this will run with a few leagues easily enough. If you are looking for comprehensive details, stats and in game 2d match engines, look later on in the series, 03/04 seems to be the best option in y opinion, but buy cm 01/02 now to enjoy a few hours of reality....I mean virtual reality.
And it really does become so real once you get started, choose from Argetina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Japan, Northern Ireland, Norway, Polandm Portugal, Rep of Ireland, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, USA and Welsh leagues.
Become engrossed in every tiny detail of football management from transfers to media speculation, contract renewal to tactics. The transfer market is also very detailed on this with the ability to narrow searcher with a nice filter which finds you your best options for players.
Scouting is also a good option in this version and you can scout the next team to get the lo down on their tactics to suit yours to beat them!!!! Searches for youth and to specific areas of the globe are also worthwhile. The text based games are a let down ONLY if you need to see the players. The real joy is how it actually works when you see nothing but text and you run up and down the room screaming that you have just one the fa cup.
That is how addictive and engrossing this game is, buy it,

I do like games where they've gone the extra mile to make it feel 'real' but football is just not my scene. Welcome to Ciao ;-) Sharron xxx
