Before I go into any of the details of this review, I need to mention that I refer the the EDP (Eau de Parfum) version of this fragrance. Generally, different perfume concentrations used to mean just that - different percentages of the same combination of perfume oils, and different quantities of alcohol. It could happen that the different alcohol ratios could make the respective versions smell slightly differently on some people. But that was all. In the last few years, however, there is an increasing tendency, to not just tweak the notes into different proportions to each other, but to actually change the fragrance notes significantly. A Chanel representative explained that generally the higher the concentration, the higher the emphasis on the fruity/spicy/woody notes. And the lower the concentration, the greater the emphasis on floral notes. Coco Mademoiselle though is an exception. The lowest concentration, EDT, is created for a younger market. It is a slightly simplified version of the original. Personally I find it a little incomplete.
Therefore the EDP version in my case. I got it cheaply some two years ago. The bottle was damaged, which lowered the price significantly. But it's the content that matters. The Chanel site lists the notes as follows: Top notes : Sicilian Orange, Calabrian Bergamot. Middle notes : Morning Rose, Oriental Jasmine. Base notes : Indonesian Patchouli, Haitian Vetiver, Vanilla from Réunion, White Musk
The fragrance type is given as fresh/oriental, the character as charming sexy with a hint of masculinity. This probably seems rather abstract. So I hope that my experience will clear things up a bit.
My first impression was that it is in some ways a less complex fragrance than previous Chanel offerings. Essentially that is still what I think, but without considering it a minus. There must be easy-to-wear fragrances, those that you reach for when can't decide which perfume to wear. Coco Mademoiselle starts off very fresh with citrus notes. On my skin they also stay till the end, but after the first few minutes, the warmer notes come through. At no point can I single out the floral ingredients, my general impression is that of a fruity fragrance with a little extra. Often fruity fragrances can be rather juvenile, or alternatively, they are very fresh and only suitable for the summer. Coco Mademoiselle is different. Citrus and rose notes with woods in the base can often create a nicely abstract, warm "jam smell". The vanilla and patchouli give an slight impression of earthiness. All this is achieved without being sweet. I do like sweet perfumes, but this one is all the more interesting for not being sweet. I don't detect any masculine qualities in it either, though I appreciate them and even wear men's scents.
To summarize, on the surface it is a fizzy citrus fragrance, but it has a sunny warmth in the background that can really brighten lousy grey days. It is an interesting composition and definitely superior to many of its fragrance group.
The lasting power is excellent. I do reapply through the day as I like to revive the fizzy qualities of the scent. But the base notes easily last 24 hours, and even longer on clothes.
I'll list a few guide prices, though there may be cheaper ones online.
Pure perfume 7.5 ml £66.56 Eau de Parfum 100ml £72.43 50ml £52.85 35ml £39 Eau de Toilette 100ml £61.66 50ml £42.09
The pure perfume and the 100ml and 50ml sizes of the EDP come in the well-known iconic Chanel bottle. The 35ml EDP is in a simpler rectangular bottle, and so is the EDT. Both the EDP and the EDT are available as refillable purse-sprays.
For those who still can't get enough, there is also a range of body products. Currently I can find:
Bath Soap 125g £14 Bath Gel 200ml £25.45 Body Lotion 200ml £29.36 Body Satin Spray 125ml £29.36 Deodorant 100ml £22.51 Hair Mist 35ml £25 Body Cream 125ml £45
I'd also like to add that I intended to discontinue using this scent more than once as it is very popular. The popularity of a product usually doesn't affect me one way or the other. But perfumes can be an exception. One's sense of smell is a rather subconscious and subjective one. Smelling something frequently can make it seem less special. But it turns out that both my husband and one of our cats are crazy about this perfume. The cat licks anything touched by the scent. So between them they made me see sense. I enjoy it more than ever and intend to always have a bottle of it. I'd say that this speaks for itself in terms of a memorable fragrance. I won't turn my back on a faithful friend just because some overdo it.

...free sample spray of Coco Chanel perfume. Upon returning home I thrust my wrist at my husband to get his opinion and mentioned to him that I wouldn't mind a bottle as I quite liked it, knowing that he was shortly going away on business to Bahrain I hoped that if I hinted heavily enough I may wake up on Christmas morning to find a bottle in my stocking.

I was obviously delighted to have received such a lovely present but at the same time as it wasn't the same fragrance that ...

Advantages: A fragrence which although long lasting does not kill your sense of smell Disadvantages: Intoxication- is that necessarily a BAD thing?
...media-aware person, will know, Coco Chanel is the epitome of high quality and class. However, the original market for Chanel perfumes has traditionaly been for the middle-aged/ mature lady with her string pearled necklace. Coco Chanel have redressed the niche of the younger market to whom they have been missing out with the launch of this new perfume- Mademoiselle.
In a strikingly familiar basic yet classical aesthetics, the box of the perfume is ... ...gold with the emblem of Chanel embossed on the top. The box itself is a pearlescent white, with simple inscriptions about the fragrance. One of the greatest pleasures is when you open the box, you get a subtle hint of the ragrance which makes you want more ( chocolate addicts watch out- this could bcome a new addiction!!). The perfume bottle itself- is the tradition rectangular shape, with a thick white top (about 40% of the bottles' size) and clear ...

...an incredibly popular fragrance. Apparently Chanel designed this perfume because they felt that people viewed their Coco perfume as being for a more mature market and they thought they were missing out on the younger section of society so they decided to use Coco as inspiration and redesign it with a fresh new take. There have been quite a few famous faces advertising this including Kate Moss (though I think that was probably back in 2001 when the ... ...are the words Coco Mademoiselle Chanel Paris.
