Big Brother Advantages: Nightly Entertainment, Can Be Good At Times Disadvantages: Ran Out of Ideas, Repetitive ...one series to go (on Channel 4 anyway) you would expect the last series to be the best. However, the producers seem to have completely ran out of ideas for the show and obvious things which could make it more entertaining are never used. Time for the production team to listen to Frankie Boyle's ideas (Mock the Week fans will know what I mean). It's probably for the best that it is coming to an end. Cigarettes and alcohol, benefits and bust ups! Advantages: Something different Disadvantages: Samey ...their target audience. But like Wife Swap, the early series were best as they quickly went from "social experiments" to vehicles for people to be just on TV doing the silliest of things. Wife Swap was perhaps the worst for this, soon deteriorating into fat uncouth working-class people slagging each other off between cigarettes and swigging canned lager, inviting a more sneering viewer to tune in. The first two series were interesting as you had middle-class ... ...on it became sink estate wife mixing with upwardly mobile working-class and lots its spark, the couples too samey. There has to be a contrast for these shows to work. Basically these were people plodding along in dead end marriages using the TV show as some kind of therapy to sort out their relationships. It's STILL not over... My Nastiest Review So Far! Advantages: Made great viewing, caused a right fuss. Disadvantages: Felt sorry for Shilpa, Jade got paid for it. ...to death or similar. Channel Four have managed to use a much more racist contestant from Shipwrecked (who said of black people "from what I've heard, they're pretty bad."). Jade was a bully more than a racist, it was Jack who used the word "p**i" and as for that mother of hers….. The most uncomfortable thing was Davina having a go at Jade and Jo. Each time they showed the news reports and their faces I had to look away. It was cringe making. Danielle, ... ...made for better viewing. Channel Four was slated in the papers as Channel Fourth Reich, effigies of the producers were burnt on the streets of India and the UK learnt that no publicity is bad publicity…….Isn't that right? What's On The Market Today? Advantages: Great fun to watch, very funny Disadvantages: Repetitive ...a property show shown on Channel 4 on Wednesdays at 8pm, each series runs for approximately 8 episodes, 60 minutes an episode (including advert breaks) and it tends to run throughout the summer. The show has become so popular that it has even launched another similar show aptly named Relocation, Relocation much like Big Brother‘s Little Brother is to Big Brother. Oh shut up! Advantages: on every night Disadvantages: rubbish I dunno, maybe I’m getting too old for this kind of thing. But then again, I’m sure I’m not alone in having regular fantasies of stealing into the Big Brother house of a night and giving all the contestants a damn good slapping. Never before have I had occasion to scream such abuse at the humble box of wires and cathode ray tubes that sits innocently in the corner of my room. Not since a clue came up on Catchphrase with a picture of a bird in somebody’s ... ...and a big equals sign, and the contestant was shouting ‘Bird hand! Bird shrub!’, have I been forced to paint a pentagle on my kitchen floor, sacrifice my cat, and pray to the dark spirits to rid the world of this evil. What on Earth is wrong with these people? Okay, I am prepared to admit that being locked in a house for several weeks is bound to affect one’s sensibilities as regards what is worth getting excited about.
