...in the show broadcasted on Channel 4. In terms of laughter I find that on a political nature there are no comparisons. Perhaps there is "Have I got news for you". Though for originality and fast moving sketches and stand up political and current affairs comedy there are none better than Rory Bremner. Bremner is supported by Bird and Fortune, who participate in more often than not political themed sit down comedy sketch scenes. This part in terms ... ...than others. Being shown on Channel 4 on a Sunday evening at 7pm does not help in terms of viewing time. It is repeated on C4 1 a day later. Also at various intervals of the show, Rory Bremner takes part in his own double act scenes where he is seen talking to himself, albeit he is trying to get the feel of talking to another person. The themes covered tend to be wideranging from British, American politicians, Football managers and some more.

Advantages: a gathering of satirical genius Disadvantages: helps if you know whats going on in current affairs
Bremner, Bird and Fortune is a show that seems to be the product of two ages. It has one foot in the past, the age of satire that was so well done by the likes of Peter Cook, Jonathan Miller and the TW3 show with the other placing it totally up to the moment in its subject matter and style. It brings together three well-established comedians, known both for their performance and writing skills. John Bird and John Fortune have been working together ... ...as "Dig this Rhubarb" and "My Father Knew Lloyd George". Rory Bremner had a meteoric rise to fame in the early eighties, after providing voices for cult series "Spitting Image" within a few years he had a widely appreciated show of his own. The two Johns had always been involved with his work but it was not until this that they were given joint titular rights. Advantages: funny, good show, real, good points Disadvantages: not applicable
Bremner Bird and Fortune is an impression show with three comedians, hence the name.
Cast
The cast consists of Rory Bremner, John Bird, and John Fortune. They all work very well together and are very professional about what they do. There are no weak links in the trio and so the show is really good.
What's In It?
It is an impression show which mainly "does" politicians - from both sides and - and an assortment of other people in the public limelight ... ...who discuss the issues. They are always very sincere and seem to be serious until you listen carefully and realise just how funny it actually is. It is hard to follow if you aren't deeply into politics, but I'm sure it's possible to enjoy it anyway.
Overall
I love it, some people might not, but I don't know anyone (yet) who has watched it and hated it to not watch to not watch it again. It's on every Sunday night between 2100-2200 (9pm to 10pm) ...
