A Milkshake to start your children's day.

Advantages: Starts early for early risers
Disadvantages: can't get the kids away from the t.v.

My kids have been watching Milkshake more or less since Channel 5 started. They have 2 lady presenters, one called Kemi and the other is Naomi who take it in turns to present the programmes and read out children's birthdays and show off birthday cards. They also announce any competitions that may be happening. Milkshake (weekdays) starts around 6.30 which is brilliant if your child is an early riser. My kids watch it from 7am when they get up when ...
...time there is two episodes of Noddy and then at 8am just before they go to school, Bear in the Big Blue House and the programmes go right through to 9.20am. On the weekends a man (I think this is is name) called Eddie presents the programmes with programmes for older children later on the mornings. The presenters are very very good at their job, they expressions are very easy for the children to understand and don't rush themselves. The programme ...

...could drag me away from the steely gaze of Anne Robinson as she dismisses another dimwit on The Weakest Link, but The Wonder Years regularly does, despite the fact that I've seen every episode several times. The Wonder Years was made between 1988 and 1993 and set exactly twenty years earlier in suburban middle America in the days of hippy flower-power, peace and love, the space race and the Vietnam war. The opening titles introduce the characters ...
...Help From My Friends'. The music is a key part of this nostalgia show.* Many episodes start with TV footage of major events from the era, providing an historical context and connecting the lives of the characters to the zeitgeist (the spirit of the age). The star of The Wonder Years was Fred Savage who played Kevin Arnold - and what a terrific actor for one so young. So much depended on the combination of his facial expressions with the voice-over ...

Fun For The Whole Family!

Advantages: Educational, fun, colourfull, enjoyable for adults too, great songs!
Disadvantages: none!

My daughter loves bear in the big blue house, and im quite fond of iot too! Some childrens programmes can be unbarable for parents, but this is very watchable! there is a wide range of lovable charecters: ojo, the little girl bear cub; pip and pop, a pair of otters; tutter, the little mouse; treelo, the lemur and luna, the moon, who always pops in for the goodbye song, which is my daughters favorite! Bear teaches his friends about colour, friendship, ...
...It is acctually thanks to Bear and his friends that my daughter started enjoying using the potty! It has helped her so much! It has also helped her speach development, counting and the importance of friendship and love! We have so much fun singing and dancing along with Bear in the big blue house, no child should miss out! I also have a 5mth old who loves to bounce along! ...

Everybody's potty about Harry

Advantages: Teaches our young children some wonderful messages
Disadvantages: It's only on at weekend.

No not Harry Potter, but Harry and his bucketful of dinosaurs. Harry and his bucketful of Dinosaurs is based on the books by Ian Whybrow and Adrian Reynolds, and is currently aired on Channel Five as part of the Milkshake group of programmes. As such, it is aimed at the younger age group of children, and my boy of five loves it. I would have thought that it would appeal to both boys and girls up to the age of about eight years old. Essentially, ...
...toy dinosaurs. In every episode, Harry explores some of life's issues, including learning good manners, being careful, and helping others. He joins his toy dinosaur friends in Dino World, a world created entirely of their imagination where just about anything can happen. ****** Theme Tune ****** The tune is somewhat catchy, but infuriating at the same time. There has been many the time where I have been humming it days afterwards, and can't get ...

The World of Peppa Pig

Advantages: Short episodes to keep young children amused
Disadvantages: None

Peppa Pig The World of Peppa Pig As many of you may have already guessed from some of my other reviews – my two year old daughter absolutely loves Peppa Pig. Unlike many other programmes she likes, I actually enjoy this one too (after seeing it over and over daily how can I not start to like it!) and as of yet, I have not got to the point where I am wanting to throw the television out of the window whenever it is on which is a really great sign! ...
...Each episode of Peppa Pig is only five minutes long, though packed with fun and laughter and perfect length for the really young. Peppa Pig has become widely known to both children and adults alike and has won a few awards which include awards for ‘Best TV production’ in 2005 and a BAFTA ‘Preschool Children’s Animation award’ also in 2005. Not only has Peppa Pig entertained children for a couple of years on the television, but the craze has also ...
