Legion. While some games are happy to gradually ease you into the action, that's resolutely not so here, with wave upon wave of attackers hitting you quickly--albeit not very hard.But that soon changes. As you hack your way through the game, up ramps the difficulty level, and so do the factors ofChaos Legionthat move it away from being the all-out action fest it initially appears. As you battle onwards and upwards you build up your legions, which ultimately you'll be able to call on to help you. You can deploy these legions in different ways, assuming you've built up enough energy to do so, and they add a pleasing extra dimension to an already enjoyable game. A tactical element is factored in by you having to choose which legions--and there are seven types in the game--to take into the next level, although your choice rarely makes a mesmeric difference.Viewed from the third-person, the action in the game is pretty relentless, and that makes it ideal to switch on and jump straight in to. It's an arcadey hack-and-slash at heart, whose worst crime is to occasionally border on repetitive, but best asset is the sheer entertainment factor that lies at the heart of it all. --Simon Brew

Of course not. The computer controlled player could get stuck and had be "teleported" to your position, the collision detection was at times woeful and the end of level bosses largely unimaginative dinosaur mutants. A four player option would have made it complete too. However, minor niggles in a resplendent example of a genre which at the time was lacking in ideas.

Woefully both the Commodore Amiga and "The Chaos Engine" are woefully obsolete. A search on ebay could be profitable as it was released on various platforms, but wait you CAN get "The Chaos Engine" still thanks to the joys of emulation ...

Advantages: graphics, ease of use Disadvantages: nothing really new
table top battles but soon found out that you are best to stay away from combat and use ranged weapons. It seems to be the case with this game in that ranged weapons rule the battlefield. It seems you me that providing you have ranged units you can panic the enemy more and then slaughter them as they run away.
One thing to remember is as in the table top battle, don't forget a unit that has runaway as they might just compose themselves and flank you !!
During the campaign you will also get to play as Elves, what is disappointing is that the money you gain as Empire is then also shared when you are Elves. This means you have to plan your money out very carefully.
If you play as Chaos the same applies and you will get a chance to play chaos and Skaven. You will get to see other armies but they are controlled by the pc.
