It's Dogs Trust now, but the message is the same.
Review of Ncdl [TV Advertisement] by wispfudge

Advantages: Work hard to promote good dog welfare.
Disadvantages: In this day & age they shouldn't be necessary.

...now adverts for the NCDL are still regularly run. The NCDL is the largest Dog Charity in the UK, they changed their name to Dogs Trust in October 2003 & their work continues. Their adverts are emotive, but for the most part uplifting, not fancy but simply & clearly putting their message across. The main message of their adverts is Sponsoring a dog, Being able to sponsor a dog & keep in touch with it's progress, is handy for people who cannot own ...
...sponsor dogs do own them as well. Each dog can have more than one sponsor, the monies raised goes not just to help home the sponsor dog, but for the upkeep of all the homless dogs at their centres. Of course the main thing they are known for is rehoming unwanted dogs through their regional rehoming centres. These centres are state of the art, clean, light, airy designed to help reduce stress in the dogs living there which in turn helps them be ... Read review

NSPCC, Would you donate
Review of Charities - NSPCC [TV Advertisement] by robsgirl

Advantages: Suoerb charity that does some superb work for chldren
Disadvantages: Powerful adverts - but morally acceptable?

...It's one of Britains leading charities and uses the money it recieves to help something close to almost every humans heart - children. Through their work they have made a real name for themselves, and people know instantly what their abreviated symbols mean (if anyone doesnt its the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children - NSPCC). Recently they have seen a drop in takings though, mainly due to the drop in donations to charities ...
...go around. By those charities that have money spending it on large advertising campaigns to earn even more, smaller charities who can't afford the exposure will miss out. This annoys me somewhat as its a blatant abuse of power, and I also wonder if this advertising money couldn't be used elsewhere. Those £3 million spent on NSPCC advertising could have saved thousands of children. Instead some fat cat gets the cash and an ad campaign is born (however ... Read review

Pants indeed
Review of Charities - Comic Relief [TV Advertisement] by GraingerN

Advantages: catchy ad that has dual meaning, charity and a quality product
Disadvantages: none

Have you all seen one of the new adverts for Comic Relief? if not here's a little insight. As Comic Relief is almost upon us ITV are offering a few adverts raising awareness of their viewers to the fact. For the first time last week I saw the 'Pants to Poverty' one and so did my 3 year old daughter, who finds it hilarious. It's basically a cartoon bloke walking on the screen with rather tasty boxers and a vest on (0% sex appeal, similar to Mr ...
...happily turns around and with a blink of an eye whips his boxers down and moons at you. The voiceover at that time is something along the line of 'we at Persil are helping to say pants to poverty', fair point. He then pulls them back up and strolls off of the screen followed by a line of washing appearing with Persil written on another pair of this delightful chappies boxers. The outcome of the advert being that if you purchase a special Comic ... Read review

WANT A PAL FOR LIFE
Review of Ncdl [TV Advertisement] by brianlfc

Advantages: Way too many to list an extraordinary place that cares for dogs
Disadvantages: None whatsoever

...about some place called the NCDL (National Canine Defence League) by a friend. So, the next day he got up and went over to the local centre, which luckily is only about 2 miles away from his house. The next day, whilst visiting the re-housing centre, he told us of how he had fallen in love with a 3 year old Border Collie called “Tom” (which was a strange name, as it is a bitch) and he had actually put his name down to adopt it, then ...
...in depth look at the NCDL and the excellent work they do. The NCDL are a charity based re-housing centre for unwanted or abandoned and mistreated dogs, they have 16 centres situated in various locations around the country (see the list below for your nearest centre), anyway, as you know, there are all too often cases of dogs not being wanted and abandoned or mistreated, well that’s were the NCDL come in, what they do, is take these dogs in, ... THROWN AWAY BY HUMANS
Review of Ncdl [TV Advertisement] by purdy

Advantages: Help make a difference
Disadvantages: NONE

...to sponsor a dog through NCDL (National Canine Defence League) by another Ciao member - thanks to Wulsie! To be truthful l had often seen the adverts on telly and kept meaning to get around to it but never did, so the opinion gave me the kick up the bum l needed! The TV commercials were not all singing all dancing ones, with loads of money spent on them. Rather, in simple terms dogs putting their plight across. I have never had a dog -although l ...

Its founding member was a Lady Gertrude Shock and they first met at the first ever Crufts. By 1901 membership was at 1000, 6500 in 1910 and today membership totals 300 000.
