Charles Worthington Dream Hair radiant Shine Glossing Conditioner

...a lot. I had used Charles Worthington Results products before, so thought I would give this range a try. It was £5.35 for 250ml which seemed an ok price for a brand like Charles Worthington.

I got this conditioner along with the shampoo a few months ago for a holiday I was going on. I fancied something new and though this sounded suitable for a hot holiday, as my hair usually goes quite dull when it's exposed to the sun a lot. I had used Charles Worthington Results products before, so thought I would give this range a try. It was £5.35 for 250ml which seemed an ok price for a brand like Charles Worthington.

Packaging

The packaging is nice and looked good on the shelf with all of the other products in the range. It is a tall straight bottle which is clear so you can see the colour of the conditioner inside. The conditioner is a lovely lilac colour which goes well with the metallic purple lettering saying "Dream Hair" on the front. It also has a nice gold swirly pattern on the front and "Charles Worthington" written in gold at the top. It has a clear plastic pull of lid and a gold cap where the conditioner comes out. It is quite an unusual lid for a conditioner and has a push cap which you push it one way to reveal the hole where it comes out, and push it the other way to close. Really the packaging is quite basic and not very innovative but it looks nice overall.

What it promises

"Drench hair with this weightless Radiant Shine Glossing Conditioner to repair dry and damaged hair, bringing a new life to your hair, leaving it soft, supple and gleaming."
This sounded ideal for me because I need a conditioner that repairs damaged hair but don't like it to weigh down my hair so the weightless bit appealed to me.

My Experience

The first thing I found with the conditioner was that I wasn't keen on the lid, well not the lid but the cap thing. Clicking it from one side to the other proved annoying especially when you're in the shower and your hands are wet. At the same time you have to tip the bottle upside down and squeeze it through the small hole, and it was just really awkward. This only got worse the more empty the bottle became.

I really like the lilac colour of the conditioner and the smell was just as nice. It's not any particular smell like a fruit or anything, just a really pleasant perfumed smell. It isn't overly strong though, just nice and fresh. Even though it says on the bottle that it is 'weightless' on the hair the texture still surprised me, it is quite watery and feels more like a shampoo. When I applied it, it almost slid off my hair and was quite awkward to massage in, therefore I ended up using more than I would usually use. When I rinsed it off to be honest my hair didn't feel a lot different, it felt slightly smoother than before but not much. It is easy to rinse out though with it being quite watery.

I generally find my hair quite easy to brush when it is damp, but I found it was more knotty after using this and reminded me of how my hair has used to be when I didn't used to use conditioner at all. When my hair was dry it looked a lot duller than normal and the ends didn't look smoothed like usual. It also didn't feel as smooth as usual. I admit though that it did feel lightweight but this seemed irrelevant when the conditioner hadn't really done anything, because I might as well have not used any at all! One good thing was that the lovely smell stayed in my hair and lasted really well which was nice.

I carried on using the conditioner while I was away but ended up throwing the remaining quarter of a bottle away before traveling home as it didn't seem worth bringing back with me. I was surprised at how much I used though while I was there, even though it is quite a big bottle I found I did have to use a lot each time so I don't think the bottle lasts that long, therefore it isn't the best value for money.

Overall Opinion

This just wasn't for me, I found it did keep hair weightless but didn't actually do any of the things that I would normally expect. I would possibly recommend it for people with very fine hair who are looking for an ultra-light conditioner, but would warn that it doesn't really do a lot.
