...go. My reason for choosing Charles Worthington No Frizz Serum was purely because it was £3 in Tesco before Christmas and I felt with a name like Charles Worthington, a top hairdresser, my hair would be in good hands.
The serum is packaged in my pet hate way- a small plastic bottle encased in a cardboard box- the plastic bottle on its own would have sufficed. The bottle is only 30ml capacity and has a sweet little purple pump action ... ...feel like a salon day. Charles Worthington goes to your head
Directions:
After washing, squeeze out excess moisture (do not dry), dispense 2-3 pumps in palms and smooth evenly through wet hair (use more or less depending on length and texture of hair) comb and blow dry smooth.
For Hairs Types: It states this product is suitable for all hair types
I should point out now again this is another product whose name has changed in recent months; it is now called No Frizz Serum.
I have unbearable frizzy hair, which I blame my Mum for. As a child I had hair that was neither curly nor straight, whilst my older sister had poker straight locks, I fought tooth and nail to have curls or not and it wasn't until I was about 22, I successfully managed to do so.
One of products I use to gain less frizz is a serum. I am not particularly fussy on brands, whatever is on offer or whatever has been recommended to me, I'll give it a go.
The bottle is only 30ml capacity and has a sweet little purple pump action top. The branding is generally white writing, silver products names but nothing exciting.
The Blurb: This frizz-taming serum keeps hair silky-smooth all day long.
Keep frizz at bay, whatever the weather. Apply to wet hair for unbeatable frizz control that lasts from morning till night. Humidity resistant agents and UV filters maintain the long-lasting shine.

I followed the instruction and washed my hair- I was using Charles Worthington shampoo and conditioner which I had bought as part of another offer but it doesn't state if you are to have the best results, use Charles Worthington Shampoo & Conditioner. I was fairly confident in this serum already, it fitted in my hand very well and I was able to dispense the serum easily, even with my hands being wet from drying my hair.
My hair is fairly long- you might be able to tell that already from my photo but what you can't see it that my hair comes past my shoulders and is at chest level at the moment, so I would argue my hair would come under the long category and therefore require the maximum recommended dose of the serum, 3 pumps. Texture wise, my hair is dry and brittle most of the time, unless I use a deep conditioner, which I didn't, whilst using this serum. I also therefore thought, 3 pumps of the serum would be adequate for texture as well as length.
Rubbing the serum into my palms slightly, I did notice it felt slightly greasy and oily, which was not a good start, I don't have oily hair but I didn't want to start having oily hair either. There is no scent to this serum at all, which is good for those who might be sensitive to scents in cosmetic products. After a little rub into the palms, I applied the serum to my hair, I normal work from the top quarter of my hair downwards and this was no exception. Whilst applying this serum, I was overwhelmed by the greasiness I felt both on my fingers and in my hair. I really hoped that it would not be the case when my hair was dry.
I followed the instructions to the tee, despite not normally blow drying my hair due to preferring straightners, I even spent 45 minutes blow drying my hair in the name of making this a fair trial. After blow drying my hair looked lanky, separated and greasy. To be fair my frizz was tamed, very slightly but the rest of my hair was left looking like it needed another wash. I thought it might have been to do with the quantity of serum I used so I decided to plod on and try again the nest day.
Following my previous disaster with the serum, I did notice the next day my hair looked even more oily and after sleeping overnight, the anti-frizz action was completely gone which was very disappointing but I washed and towel dried my hair once more and only used 2 pumps for my hair.
Again rubbing into my palms, the serum was unbearably greasy and by this point I was in two minds whether or not to use it again but I did. Yet again I was disappointed, the greasiness was more than evident from the beginning of blow drying my hair, and I could even see sections of my hair separating. On this occasion I did feel my hair was weighted down by the serum, this was despite using less of the serum than my previous use. I felt this may have been due to the serum sticking to the hair and not being washed out properly, not matter how well I'd washed my hair. Another 45 minutes later after blow drying, I felt my hair looked worse than the previous day. On this occasion, I also saw that the anti-frizz action was nowhere to be seen, it was horrendously frizzy around the roots and the middle and end sections were heaving with greasiness and general look of lankiness that comes with not washing your hair for several weeks.
I also tried this again with one squeeze and my straightening irons but it was all in vain, whatever amount of serum I used, it only had the effect of making my hair look terrible. 3 pumps is enough to tame the frizz on my hair but even 1 pump is too much when it makes my hair this oily.
My other bugbear about this serum was that even after wiping my hands, I could still feel the greasy residue for hours afterwards.
Overall I would have expected better from a premium hair care brand and especially one endorsed by a celebrity hairdresser. I was left sorely disappointed with this serum, I had hoped for it to remove the frizziness but all it did for me was to add greasiness to my hair and to make it look worse than when I let the frizz take over.
I have used cheaper brands with more effect than this, although it is currently on offer in Boots for £2.99 (usually £3.99), I still would not recommend this to other Ciao readers. I cannot see on what hair length or texture this would work effectively on, but it's not mine and I would consider my hair to be pretty run of the mill.
So I'm now on the look out for another product, if you are too, please don't waste your money on this one, it will be best invested elsewhere.
Advantages: Great for taming the worst hair of all. Disadvantages: Don't put to much on, look like you haven't washed your hair for a week.

I?ve been buying CharlesWorthington Take Aways FrizzTamingSerum for a while now, in a futile attempt to make my hair do something vaguely like what I want it to do. I went to buy myself a new bottle the other day, but when I arrived in the shop I realised that I was only buying it out of habit, and in fact it is a complete waste of money. I decided I needed to try something new, but after looking through shelves of over-priced serums and sprays, I went back to the CharlesWorthington shelf and decided to give one of the other products a chance. I chose CharlesWorthington Take Aways Hair Healer Intensive Leave-In Conditioner and here?s my verdict?
The conditioner comes in a 50ml bottle with a pump action top to get a small amount of the product out at a time. When I bought it I actually thought it was in a cream coloured plastic ...
