Full review

I was in my local branch of Boots a couple of days ago and decided to look for an intensive conditioning treatment to try and soften my over-coloured and heat styled hair. I wandered into an aisle which had a display of minature bottles of hair products.

Now i'm a sucker for minatures. I like anything which takes up less space than giant bottles of products, especially if you want to sample something new and don't want to shell out x pounds for something you'll never use again.

The range i'm describing is Charles Worthington "Take Aways". These are predominantly designed for travellers and are a perfect size to slip into a suitcase to save on space. Perfect to leave enough room in your case to stock up on duty frees!

The range includes shampoos, conditioners, hairsprays and many other hair treatments. I spotted an intensive conditioner called "Hair healer intensive leave-in conditioner". This was just what I was looking for and I parted with 1.50 for a 50ml bottle. (Sorry my pound sign is broken)!! Just for the record, every other product was also 1.50 each.

The conditioner comes in a little pump bottle, about 5" high and is cream in colour. It has the words "take aways" written in big letters on the front and all the details of the conditioner in smaller letters.

It claims to be "an intensive hair and scalp mega-treatment packed with nourishers and strengthers which target damaged zones, plus soothers, smoothers and refreshing naturals". Sounds great but would it really perk up my dry, dull hair?

I used the treatment after shampooing and conditioning my hair as usual. You could use it in place of conditioner, but I wanted to see what a difference it would make to my normal hair. I towel dried my hair and brushed it through.

This is a highly concentrated conditioner, so you only need a small amount. In a 50ml bottle, it claims to have 15 - 25 applications. I have medium length hair, just past my shoulders, so I pumped around ten pumps into my hands and smoothed it through the ends of my hair. I would not use this on the roots as it may make roots greasy.

I then combed my hair through to make sure it was distributed evenly. There is no need to rinse the conditioner out. The product has a lovely fresh smell like treatments you may get in the hairdressers. Its light and not at all greasy unlike some other brands. There is no film left on the hands. It seemed to sink into my thirsty hair.

I blow dried and styled my hair as usual. I had a lovely shine to my dry hair and the brush swept through my hair so easily. I was impressed. Over the next 24 hours, I did not notice a dulling or a build up of grease as I have done with some other products. In fact, I found I only needed to wash my hair every other day rather than every day.

I would definitely recommend this product to anybody. It is suitable for all hair types so everybody can use it! Its great value for money and my only bad point to bring up is it isn't available in a bigger size! Oh well, I did say I liked minatures!

The bottles states it is not tested on animals. If you want to contact the company, they are available at:

Amazing Results from Charles Worthington
Review of Charles Worthington Results Take Aways Hair Healer Intensive Leave-In Conditioner by Izzy_Lizzy

Advantages: Results, price, quick to use
Disadvantages: None

I’ve been buying Charles Worthington Take Aways Frizz Taming Serum for a while now, in a futile attempt to make my hair do something vaguely like what I want it to do. I went to buy myself a new bottle the other day, but when I arrived in the shop I realised that I was only buying it out of habit, and in fact it is a complete waste of money. I decided I needed to try something new, but after looking through shelves of over-priced serums and sprays, ...
...products a chance. I chose Charles Worthington Take Aways Hair Healer Intensive Leave-In Conditioner and here’s my verdict… The conditioner comes in a 50ml bottle with a pump action top to get a small amount of the product out at a time. When I bought it I actually thought it was in a cream coloured plastic bottle, but when I used it I realised that the bottle is transparent plastic, the cream colour is the conditioner. The writing on the front ... Read review

...products from the salon of Charles Worthington. I recently had highlights done, and while I’ve been delighted with the way they look, I had forgotten how harsh these kinds of chemicals could be on your hair. Before, my beloved Lush Trichomania solid shampoo left my hair in perfect condition. Since the colour though, my hair has become very dry and needed a helping hand in the conditioning department. I popped off to my local Boots and perused ...
...the small but perfectly formed Charles Worthington “Results Take Aways” range. This range is exactly the same as the Results salon formulas, but in smaller, more affordable quantities. There are 23 products in the range, including conditioners, hairsprays, waxes, serums and shampoos. My very tiny local Boots store stocked nine or ten of them, all priced at £1.50 each. They are marketed as beauty products “to go”, handy sizes ... Read review

Smooth Silky & Soft - Just the way I like it.
Review of Charles Worthington Results Take Aways Hair Healer Intensive Leave-In Conditioner by vialdana

Advantages: long lasting, leaves hair smooth, silky and soft
Disadvantages: may make scalp a little greasy if you use too much.

...of the product, and the Charles Worthington name and logo are on the front, with the instructions and ingredients listed on the back - I’m not listing them all, its enough I think to say that like most conditioners, it contains lots of chemicals. As I said earlier it’s pump action, and being only a 50ml bottle would be ideal to take away on holiday with you (It would probably be very good at helping to combat the effects of sun and sea too I would ...
...but as I didn’t buy it, I am not totally certain, and like most things this price is bound to be different according to where you buy the product. I don’t think this price is too bad, even though this is such a small bottle, because as I say, each application needs to be tiny. This bottle is going to last me a long time! ... Read review

Wee miracle worker
Review of Charles Worthington Results Take Aways Hair Healer Intensive Leave-In Conditioner by pollipocket

Advantages: Leaves hair soft, cost
Disadvantages: Slightly sticky if you apply too much

After having a disastrous experience after getting highlights, I'm always on the lookout for amazing products that changes my hair from straw to sleek & shiny... This small bottle does exactly what it says on the tin. Ok, the bottle is small, it's part of the takeaways range, ideal if you just want to try a product, or for holidays, and has 50ml of product, which doesn't sound like a lot, but considering I only need a couple of squirts, and my ...
...The bottle itself is see through, with a pump action top. The conditioner is a slightly sticky, thick liquid, and I apply it by rubbing it on my hands, and then over my hair, smoothing it down. I then comb it through, and I find that it does make a difference. This is a leave in conditioner, so doesn't need washed out. It has a slightly clinical smell, but it's not overpowering, and I can't smell it on my hair. If you apply too much, it can leave ... Read review
