Advantages: Does what it says on the tin! and then there's the fragrance... Disadvantages: Don't spray near roots - can be greasy
...shopping trip, I noticed the Charles Worthington range had a one of those lovely little "2 for £6" stickers hovering angelicaly above them. I moved in and took a look at what was on offer and settled for a hairspray and a shine spray.

I have been using Charles Worthington products a few years now (amongst other brands) and the thing that stands out with this range is the fragrance - it is so refreshingly fresh and uplifting.
I like my packaging simple and bright and this scores highly on both counts. My can is a pastel yellow colour and has the rest of the name in smallish black lettering. The range is "results" and this is in larger writing in sage. ... more

So you get the picture … I quite like this
Boots the chemist is one of my favourite shops in the high street. I can stand for ages pawing and sniffing at the choice of hair care they have to offer, and with the added benefit of gaining points on my Advantage Card - not to mention their 3 for 2's and so on, it's all relatively guilt free.
On a recent binge - sorry - shopping trip, I noticed the Charles Worthington range had a one of those lovely little "2 for £6" stickers hovering angelicaly above them. I moved in and took a look at what was on offer and settled for a hairspray and a shine spray.
Charles Worthington, in case you haven't heard of him is one of those famous hairdressers who have gone on to develop their own range of fabulous styling products. Charles has been in the business for over 20 years and has had the honour of being "hairdresser of the year" a couple of times. He is the co-owner of five London salons and also a salon in New York, each of his salons boasting a clientele of celebrities.

The lids on these cans are not so impressive - they just don't stay on! In fact I had only just managed to wrestle my carrier bag into the bottom of the pushchair when I realised the lids from both my products had come off and were rolling along the floor. They do click on, but the slightest knock and it's off again - no good for a bag, especially not if you have edibles in there! The nozzle is a wide one with a raised area of grip (nothing worse than your finger slipping off mid squirt!) and it isn't one of those flimsy things that can fall off or clog up. On the reverse of the can is 4 statements about the product:
Give a crystal-clear sheen of brilliant shine
Replace unpleasant odours with a fresh subtle fragrance
Condition and smooth hair with a multi-active formula
Refresh and gloss tired hair for an instant boost
I have used various shine sprays before, and with varying degrees of success, ranging from "chip pan" to "healthy looking". Charles Worthington Shine On - shine, shine, shine glossing spray - to name it in full, does exactly that. It glosses. The blurb on the reverse recommends I use over my "finished style". The spray comes out in a very fine mist - but with plenty of it if you know what I mean! Immediately, it makes my hair smoother and less wiry giving it a decent injection of moisture. It is fair to say my hair does appear to be shinier - but not artificially so, very natural. Basically this gives an "enhancing" effect.
One thing to remember is less is definitely more! Try not to spray the roots wither as it may give a greasy effect.
The aroma is amazing - I have used Charles Worthington Dream Hair ( a spray to keep hair smelling fresh and odour free) before and this is very similar in fragrance. Very fruity and it does linger for ages - both on the hair and where it was sprayed!
I got this on offer, as I mentioned = 2 for £6 for any of the Charles Worthington results range in Boots, but it is usually £3.99 for a 200ml can. Mine usually lasts a fortnight, and I use daily.
