After having almost all right hair first thing in the morning but by the end of the day resembeling like I work on an oil rig, I decided something had to be done about it.
Normally I use Timotae shampoo and conditioner, which are great products, but I found that I didn't have the "clean" feeling all day in my hair. The fact that I continually run my hands through my hair all day long doesn't help the grease problem either I guess.
So I traveled down to my local Boots in search of a product that would make my hair nice and clean and shiny for the whole day.
Now, I didn't really want to buy a great big £8 bottle of some shampoo that might not even work with my hair type so I decided I'd go for the cheaper tester 3-4 washes bottles which only cost around £1.50 each. There was quite a selection on offer but I'd heard great things from the Charles Worthington products so bought the one that was: "balancing act oil-regulating shampoo". This was also for hair that had greasy roots but dry ends, another symptom of my unfortunate hair.
It came in a little pink plastic bottle. The actual shampoo is extremely clear and gloriously thick gloop, and I could almost feel my hair gasping a sigh of relieve when I used it! It lathered up really well, made lots of bubbles, and I hardly had to use any of it- for shoulder length hair I used about a strawberry sized amount.
The smell that arose out of the bottle is the typical Charles Worthington smell. At the start, I really nice and clean smell appears, but after a few moments I'm left with a less than pleasant ammonia style stench. The smell could definitely been worked on.
After using it my hair was left feeling squeaky clean- literally. This is not necessarily a bad thing but left me feeling a bit worried that my hair had simply been stripped of all its good things as well as the grease. However, this wasn't the case. My hair was left very clean and shiny but the ends were a wee tad dry. But not so dry that I wouldn't buy it again!
But the main thing- did the result last all day? The answer is......... kind of. My hair was definitely less greasy throughout the day but the problem wasn't completely healed. And although the price of £1.50 doesn't seem too pricey it's almost double that of my normal shampoo so unfortunately won't be bought every week, only for special occasions and the like.
I got 5 shampoos out of the little tube and so wouldn't necessarily say that it's bad value for money especially as at the moment there's a 3 for 2 offer on in Boots. I'd recommend it as a trial but not as everyday use because it's simply too expensive.
Advantages: good smell, leaves hair nice and shiny Disadvantages: expensive
...the opinion.
I've used Charles Worthingtons take aways products a few times. I've taken them when I've stayed over places and also used them to try out before buying the huge bottle that costs 3 times as much! The shampoo I'm going to be talking about anyway is the "Shine On" shampoo, that comes in the little yellow shampoo thing! It comes in 75ml for £1.50 - a lot more than it could cost to buy a big bottle of normal shampoo from asda! This particular ... ...It smells like most other Charles Worthington products really!
How does it lather?
Not amazingly! It's not bad and it does spread well, but don't keep scrubbing at your head thinking that it's gonna turn you into a mr microphone head, cos it won't!
How does it wash?
Is my hair squeaking now? Um...not exactly no! It's slightly better than when I use the quality 69p for 500ml bottles my mum keeps purchasing from asda though! I've used it 3 times ...

Advantages: Clean, shiny, healthy hair that looks and smells great. Disadvantages: No matter how much you use, it won't lather.
...“3 for 2” above the Charles Worthington display. Unable to work away from an offer I decided to have a nosey, and am I glad I did. The whole range of Charles Worthington hair care products were included on the promotion. However I didn’t want to splash out £6.00 a large bottle of shampoo that I didn’t know whether I would like, let alone spend £12.00 and get three! I was, therefore, drawn towards the “Take Aways” ... ...tested on animals and it does a brilliant job of making hair feel pampered. I’d recommend giving it a try, especially whilst the Charles Worthington offer is on at Boots. You’ll have hair like all those TV models and it’ll defiantly make you feel good about your locks! ...

...because I didn’t have my Charles Worthington takeaways. I know, I know, what a build up for such a commercial sounding pitch, but the last trip I made, I made my hair happy and actually packed for the event that it would have a disaster instead of me.
The colourful little bottles are 75mL of saving grace. They take up no room in luggage, are durable plastic bottles, and last for a lot longer than seems natural; even with my tangled thick mess. ... ...you hold out for Boots, there are usually 3 for 2 sales on CW every few months. Stock up.
I like the gloss sealing orange bottle, the all in one treatment green bottle and so he doesn’t feel left out, there is the blue boy bottle (though heaven knows why he needs his own special man bottle when it all smells the same anyway). There are far more varieties, conditioners, frizz concealers, leave in goop… all in a great colourful set of ...

...is about a few of Charles Worthington’s products, not just the take aways shampoo, this being because it doesn’t have a general category.
I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of hairdressers who are on television, I’ve always found them particularly annoying, but as this shampoo came highly recommended from a friend, I thought I might buy a small bottle.
So I popped off to Boots and looked around for a bit, I saw all the usual shampoos, which didn’t ... ...all the Charles Worthington stuff and instantly picked up on the bright bottles and the fact that there was such a huge range available. So I picked up the shampoo first (well you can’t buy conditioner without shampoo can you?) then I saw the price, and wasn’t exactly willing to fork out that much, ( I’m 14, I’m allowed to be stingy, I’m still on pocket money status!) then I noticed a display of miniatures, which looked perfect for my needs. So I ...

...shampoo section and noticed the Charles Worthington section, I usually use other hair salon products but have never tried these, so I was looking through a rather impressive and extensive range and spotted some tiny bottles of shampoos and conditioners. Being intrigued I began to look a little closer, I was shocked by the range on offer - an amazing 23 different products in the take-away range from:
Shine on Shampoo
Nourish as needed rebalancing ... ...shampoo
Stay cool heat protecting spray
Shine gloss and refresh spray
To mention a few.
I was spoilt for choice but eventually decided on the Shine on Shampoo as my hair is coloured every four weeks I like it to look as healthy and shiny as possible and no flake shampoo as I have noticed lately that my scalp is becoming very dry so I was keen to treat it.
Both of the above cost only £1.65 each
The take-away shampoos and conditioners come in ...

Advantages: Price and size Disadvantages: Was rubbish
As i was coming home for christmas and im only here for a week i thought rather than lug home 2 huge bottles of shampoo and conditioner i would go to Boots and get those little bottles.
Anyway seen as though those CharlesWorthingtontakeaway ones were really good, and they didnt have any i thought i would go for the trial size Dream Hair ones, if one product was good another should do the same job - shouldnt it? And as it was only £1.50 per bottle (250ml) i thought what a bargain and off i went to the check out. After all on the bottle it says:
"DREAM HAIR is a totally new, luxurious and science-measured haircare concept that lavishes your hair with the same focused care and attention traditionally reserved for your skin. It is also the first range to offer a complete beauty routine with the sophistication and technological ...
