...on the hit list was Charles Worthington’s Take Away Range. I got a haircut and decided that I would actually try and maintain the style so when I saw these on 3 for 2 in Boots I couldn’t resist. I bought 3 different products from the Take Away range: Shine Silkening Serum, Frizz taming Serum and Shine, Gloss and Refresh Spray.
The Packaging
I know people don’t always like the packaging being described but in this case ... ...all very small (kinda cute really) and are perfect for putting in your bag. Both the serums are in clear plastic bottles and the serums themselves are clear. There is 15ml in each of these bottles. The spray is in an aluminium (this means it can be recycled and due to the products not being tested on animals they are environmentally friendly) spray can and holds 30ml.
Last week was my week for toiletry buying and this week is my week for telling you all about what I bought. So first on the hit list was Charles Worthington’s Take Away Range.
I know people don’t always like the packaging being described but in this case it is one of the products assets. The bottles are all very small (kinda cute really) and are perfect for putting in your bag. Both the serums are in clear plastic bottles and the serums themselves are clear. There is 15ml in each of these bottles. The spray is in an aluminium (this means it can be recycled and due to the products not being tested on animals they are environmentally friendly) spray can and holds 30ml.
Silkening Serum
This is the one with the green top and is used to make your hair shiny and silky (no surprises there then). After towel drying your hair you put a small 1p sized dollop on your hand and rub between your palms. You then smooth it through your hair from root to tip and style as normal. It can also be applied to dry hair.
I found a very small amount was plenty for my just past shoulder length very thick hair. A little went a long way and it was very easy to spread. After blow-drying my hair I found my hair was indeed sleek and shiny looking. I was impressed with this because normally after blow drying my hair looks dry and brittle. I also used this product dry (so I could fairly comment on it) and to my surprise it worked just a well this way too. It didn’t look greasy and my hair looked sleek again. It has no scent, which I was happy about because this meant you could smell the baby shampoo, which I love the smell of.
Frizz Taming Serum
This one has a pink top and is used to make your hair less frizzy (again no surprises there). Like before I put a small dollop, which went a very long way, onto my towelled dry hair, rubbed it through from root to tip and blow-dried. My hair was not frizzy at all. I knew the real test, though, would be after two buses in rush hour traffic. My hair was still not frizzy the end of the day came and went and still no fizz. I only reapplied the serum in the name of research, and found the results to be outstanding. Like before there was no scent.
I have used both these products separately and together and they perform well under all circumstances. Neither clog up your hair and they don't leave your hands feeling sticky afterwards like some styling products, which is great if you need to use them when you are out and about!!
Refresh Spray
I kept this in my bag at all times, but I didn’t feel I really needed it much as the other products were so good. However one night I did go to a gig, of the metal variety, and danced a lot. Afterwards I sprayed some of this refresh spray (only a little amount again) and you wouldn’t have known that I had just moshed for two and a half hours. Fantastic!!! The smell is very refreshing, and reminds me of the smell of when you just get out of the hairdressers. I am very impressed.
Overall
I feel these products are excellent. On my normal to dry hair they performed marvellously and I would recommend them to anyone. At £1.65 a bottle in Boots (and most leading stores and supermarkets) they are a bargain- even more so on a 3 for 2 offer like I got. They are excellent value for money as a little goes a long way, and these will last for ages. They don’t interfere with other products you may be using but they will enhance your hairs appearance. They also make your hair feel silky smooth to the touch, which is great for one people come up to admire your hair and want to touch it!!! (And they do)!!
Value for money: 10/10 Appearance on hair: 10/10 Quality: 10/10 Packaging: 9/10 (only because the writing is so small) Environmentally friendly: 10/10 Recommend? YES YES YES

Advantages: ideal for taking on holida or trying out new products Disadvantages: can only get them from Boots or Charles Worthington salons
I’ve always liked Charles Worthington hair care. The products seem to suit my hair and they’re not tested on animals. The Results range – designed to suit various hair types – comes in the standard size and in the Take Away sizes which I’m reviewing here. The Results Take Away range is basically smaller sizes of the regular range. They are ideal for taking away (hence the name) on holiday, keeping in your gym bag (if I ever went to the gym!) or for ... ...for Men.
Other than Charles Worthington salons, these products only seem to be available at Boots. Everything in this range is £1.50, which I feel to be quite good value. As with most brands, they work out slightly more expensive per 100ml than the standard size (which range between £3 and £6), but only marginally so. In fact the serum works out at £10 per 100ml, where as the standard size works out at £12 per 100ml! I guess they didn’t think that ...

Advantages: Fits in my bag, not tested on animals, cheaper than the large size! Disadvantages: none I can think of..perhaps it is the fact that they are cheaper than the large size
...the reviews of all the charles worthington take-aways, but this review is dedicated to the frizz-taming serum product. I have very long hair, down to roundabout my butt, and it tangles very easily, is dry and hard to tame. I long for shiny, lustrous hair!
I spotted this product in my local beauty store and after checking the ingredients ( I am against animal testing and the use of animal-derived ingredients) I bought it. It was actually on offer ... ...point I will also praise Charles Worthington for the design of the bottle. Its pump action meant getting the small amount required very easy. Once I had smoothed the few squirts required over my hair, my hair instantly felt smoother and when I brushed through, it was easier to brush and looked so much nicer than usual. It states on the bottle, (you may need a magnifying glass as the bottle is so tiny)to apply the serum to towel dried hair. Now I do ...

Advantages: Good value for money, not tested on animals, good results. Disadvantages: Run out quite quickly, hairspray brushes out easily.
I first saw the Charles Worthington take-aways on offer in boots. They were so cheap, and quite small, I thought I'd try them.. If I didn't like the products, it wouldn't be that much of a waste! It took me a while to decide which three to choose. The shampoos and conditioners come in short narrow bottles. There are a variety of different colours, but to me, there isn't a lot of difference between the fragrences. Eventually I chose oil regulating ... ...I decided to try the Charles Worthington one, as it said it worked for curly, frizzy and unruly hair. The instructions were very simple. All you had to do was run a small amount through your hair from root to tip. I just used a small amount, but it removed the curl very effectively. It didn't flatten my hair, either, like some straighteners can.
The products are usually on offer, which is very helpful if you want to try a new product. Charles Worthington ...

I really rate the Charles Worthington range. I think all of the products are absolutely brilliant and do exactly what they say, however they are expensive put you pay for brilliance!!!
I am going to give you my opinion on one of the specific take away products... Take Aways SHINE silkening serum
I bought this just before my holiday this summer, as I can't live without hair serum; it is one of those products I swear by. Frizzy hair is a complete ... ...cure available!!
When I bought it I was aware I was paying a high price for such a minimal amount of substance £1.65...only 15ml. But I am not disappointed now, as I have been using it for about a month and a half and I haven't even used 1/6 of the bottle. Therefore you really do not need to use a large amount of serum to cure frizz only a little does the trick perfectly. Each time I dry my hair once it is dry I apply two squirts of the pump action ...

Advantages: good value, sleek designs, Disadvantages: labels are a bit small
...take with me is the CHARLES WORTHINGTON TAKE AWAYS range, they are compact and good value for money. The one I am going to tell you about is CHARLES WORTHINGTON "PARTY TIME BODYWASH".
I first bought this on my last trip away. I spotted it alongside various other "washes" in Boots. It cost me 99p for a 75ml bottle. The bottle is red, with a flat flip top, and is very thin in design, so is very compact to pack.
The smell is very pleasant, but a little ... ...product without spending big money on it.

the same fragrance, but this time resembled rice pudding.
I had to apply loads; it just didn?t seem to want to sink in.
Eventually, I got bored of trying to condition it and washed the whole lot off.
My hair was certainly less tangled by this point but nowhere near as silky as some products I have used.
I don?t think the volume had improved either, although one benefit I found was that it held its style better than normal, which, as you will know, if you have fine hair, is defiantly a good thing.
Another of the claims made about this product is that it prevents static and I would agree with that.
The CharlesWorthington Big Hair range is not cheap.
It retails at £4.19 for 250ml, for both shampoo and conditioner, but you can buy ?TakeAways? which are mini 75ml bottles of products retailing at about £1.75.
These are a good idea if you ...
