Advantages: Good story
Disadvantages: Selective

...Charles is according to its author, a biographical novel, not a biography. It aims to be accurate but it is also selective and interpretative. As such it is easy and interesting to read. My main desire on completing the novel is to read a real biography about Charles Dickens. Charles serves as an interesting introduction, a way of becoming familiar with personalities without becoming inundated by too much detail initially. It tells a good story which would compel even without the attraction of its famous name. I would recommend this book.... Read review

Advantages: Great stories, great villains, great satire
Disadvantages: Sometimes struck an uneasy balance between adventure and personal probs, Cyclops was always very intense

...on a very scary theme (which was brought out to the fullest in the film) of people who are somehow different from the rest of us. However, in this case, it ain't disfiguring birthmarks we're talking about, but amazing powers, gifts which while rendering their owners superhuman also led to them being spurned by the plebs, the norms for whom such things smacked of witchcraft. I'm talking about a race apart, MUTANTS, humans who are somehow rendered very different from the rest of us as some members of the human race start to mutate into a new, more powerful breed of human, a super being. The whole theme was a thinly disguised satire upon racial prejudice and yet the strip was so well written and drawn that it always operated on a very strong standard adventure level.
