I’m not an expert when it comes to digital world but I do enjoy taking pictures when I get the chance. I have a decent normal camera and I spend a lot of money developing films. I like taking pictures of nature, places, and animals and in particular of my two cats.

I have wasted film after film on my cats and what I found annoying isn’t so much the money I’m spending but the fact that my photos not always come right or they don’t come out at all, which you don’t really know until you’ve developed the film.

So when one of my friends bought one of those very tiny digital cameras and he showed my how easy was to use, to save and play with the photos on your computer I’ve decided to get one. The price is reasonable (around £40) and the quality perhaps not great but adequate enough for ‘fun pictures’.

But my problem was which one to get as there are so many around all doing something special (none of these gadgets makes coffee or tea yet though…).
So when I’ve decided on the Che-ez! Snap it wasn’t so much the features but the fact that it has a rechargeable battery built in which means that it is also charged through the USB connection. And in the real world that means you don’t have to buy batteries all the time.
According to the manufactures you can recharge it about 500 times and after that you need a new camera.

The other thing was the size, so small and practical just 5x4x2cm in size.

The Che-ez! Snap can take 26 images at 640x480 or 104 at 320x240. It can record up to 10 seconds of continuous real video footage and can be used as webcam,. It has a self timer and standby mode which means it switches off automatically after 10 seconds if is not in use and saves the life of the battery.
It includes s free photo editing software, USB wire and it is compatible with Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 & XP. It comes in a cute round metal box with a chain, a belt hook and a very cute tiny cradle/stand which looks like a mini tripod.
According to the instructions you have to download the pictures within six hours but in reality you can keep them in the camera up to 20 hours providing that the camera is fully charged. When it takes a picture it makes a beep and flashes a red light but you have to be aware that there is a few seconds gap between the moment you press the button and when the beep sounds (it takes the picture) so you have to keep your hand still otherwise you’ll get a blurry photo. The field of view is quite wide so it's good for crowds of people and landscapes.

It doesn’t have a flash so obviously it can’t take pictures when there isn’t enough light so it is better for photos at daylight and very bright night lights but if the light isn’t good enough you either get orange objects or it will refuse to take the picture and you will hear a different ‘beep’.

The instructions are very simple and basically there are two buttons, the on/off which is the menu and the button you click when you take pictures and that’s it.

It is the size of a matchbox and that make it easy to take it everywhere, although it would have been nice if among all those chains there was some sort of little case or box instead so you can fit it in when carrying it but then again probably I ask too much for that price!

All in all a pretty handy little camera for everyday easy use and fun. Recommended for those who don’t ask too much from a ‘first time’ affordable digital camera.
