-GOLDEN VALE CHEESTRINGS---

I love these things. They are gorgeous! Just a bit of nonsense really, but they make cheese eating fun. A novelty take on cheese eating. I love cheese anyway but eating it in this way makes it all the more enjoyable and each individual cheestring makes a tasty, low calorie snack.-

---CHEESTRINGS---
Cheestrings are made with 100% real cheese and they really are a clever concept in getting children to take their daily calcium. Each 21g cheestring is made with one glass of milk containing 27% of calcium, which is a 5-10 year olds daily recommended amount. Also one cheestring is only 69 calories so they are a perfect little bite for someone who is watching their weight. I have got the Cheestring 'Twister' and this variety is a mixture of cheddar and red Leicester cheese. Nothing unnatural has been added to make the cheestring the way it is. It is made this way by the process they use of 'stretching' the cheese which makes it naturally stringy and eating it a whole lot of fun. Cheestrings are the perfect snack or an addition to the lunchbox.-

---THE PRODUCT---
There are several varieties of the Cheestring and they all come in different coloured packaging. The variety that I have is 'Twister' and it is in a bright purple two-tone packet which features a large cheestring character to the front of it with stringy peelings of cheese hanging off him. The packet contains eight cheestrings in all and it states that they contain 100% cheese. They also contain the natural flavouring of annatto. The packet is nicely made and fun to view.-

---THE CHEESTRING---
The individual cheestrings are contained within a vacuum sealed plastic sheath, which is easy to tear open. Once inside you will see the two colours of the different cheese marbled through the stick of cheese. The actual feel of the cheestring is moist and rubbery and quite pliable. When I eat one I start to peel the cheese downwards from the top then continue to pull thinner stringy bits off the piece that I have taken off until they are as thin as I can possibly make them. There is something quite satisfying about the action of doing this and it gives the cheese a real fun element. It also makes eating the cheestring last a bit longer than just ramming it in your mouth in one go and it's up to you how big a string you choose to eat. This is a very clever concept by the makers of this product and kids love this innovative product. Adults too;) -

---THE INGREDIENTS---
Well as I said before the cheestring contains 1 glass of milk plus 100% real cheese of the medium fat hard variety. There are 69 calories to each cheestring (4%) and 0 sugar. Fat weighs in at 5g (7%) and saturates are 3.1g (16%) and salt is 0.42g. (11%)-

---SUMMARY---
I think that this is a great product! It's fun and natural and it's a great way to get your child to take their daily calcium. Though aimed at children by its marketing there are a lot of adults out there who love cheestrings too. Cheestrings also have the seal of approval from the International dental health association which says a lot about the product I feel and with no E numbers I would feel quite happy giving this product to a child as a treat or snack.-

Cheestrings: £1.89 for a pack of 8.
