With Morrison continuing there 2 bottles for £1.60 offer, it was time to go to Coca Cola starting with their Cherry version of their signature drink. This, from memory used to be Cherry Coke until it was re-branded around the turn of the millennium as Coke was infact re-branded it's self into “Coca Cola” in what was originally a flop but has managed to last. As a school child Cherry Coke was a brilliant drink, a sweet and wonderful taste that was perfect for a sugary treat. Just one question needed answering, was this rose tinted spectacles or was it really good?
So lets talk about the bottle, a 500 ml bottle with a normal Coca Cola design, all looking like it's been a palette swap character from a Mortal Kombat game, given a slightly more dull red look than the originals vibrant red. A picture of a cherry adorns the world famous logo, presumably for those illiterate colour blind folk wanting to differentiate between normal Coca Cola and this cherry variant.
Normal Coca-Cola (from herein called “Coke” as it's much shorter) is often regarded as the market leader in soft drink sales, and often with good reason. It sells more than the others. Is a peculiar drink, we all know what it's like, sales would show a vast majority of people enjoy it by the bucket load, yet it's a difficult one to describe as far as taste is concerned. A refreshing and original taste, that is yet engrained into us and familiar, different but yet something we're used to. A bizarre juxtaposition of what we know, but yet don't have many things other than replica products to describe it against. Well the idea here is to merge that legendary flavour with a cherry twist to produce a new flavour to the Coke label.
Well as is always a case in these sorts of reviews, a taste test is needed, and straight from the off you can taste the Coke flavour straight away as the predominant and powerful one. As well as that you can pick up the backing flavour of the cherry twist that at first seems like it was a relative after thought but when you get part way through the bottle you realise it was almost perfectly balanced to allow the coke flavour to dominate. However saying that, personally I'd have quick liked it to have been switched to a 70-30 Cherry dominant flavour exploring the wonderful cherry flavours that are available but so rarely used in the drinks industry. Things like Cherry yoghurt are amazingly brilliant, mixing the creaminess of the yoghurt texture with the wonderful strong fruity tastes of the cherry, so why have the drinks industry not followed suit? Lets admit it, all we have as far as cherry drinks are the appalling “Cherryades” which are dire and cheap, with no real reflection on cherry's.
Despite the complaints above, I personally regard the taste as being better than the original Coke flavourings as it does add something. Yet saying that it does seem like there's a lot of potential unfulfilled and needs to be marked down because of it. The drink is however very drinkable, and quite addictive, with the bottle all going in a short space of time, and being thoroughly enjoyed. The texture is fizzy but not overly so, it's mainly smooth and incredibly palatable even if it is slightly on the gassy side.
The drinks colour feels like another missed opportunity, the drink uses the normal Coke caramel colour, instead of using a deep cherry red which would have made the product stand out and attract the attention it deserves. By deep red what I'm meaning is a real cherry red not the red used in drinks like cherryade which is truly a disgustingly artificial red.

...introduced to the delights of cherry coke which is even better!
As the name suggests, Cherry coke is simply the classic taste of coca cola with the addition of cherry flavouring - a sublime combination. The cherry flavour is more of an aftertaste than an overpowing flavour, however definately not an unpleasant one.
At first taste you're hit with the classic taste of coca cola and you could have been mistaken to think that it is, until you are hit ... ...Although I do love cherry coke and cant get enough of the stuff, it really isnt worth drinking too much of it due to its negative health implications. Firstly, cherry coke is extremely high in sugar and as a result, should definately be avoided if at all possible by children. I am extremely thankful to my parents that they helped me look after my teeth when I was a child by diverting me away from sugary drinks and sweets, which has resulted in me ...

Advantages: Taste, availability, price Disadvantages: Very high in sugar, if you drink too much you won't get down from the ceiling for HOURS!
...favourite ever soft drink. Cherry Coke was introduced in the UK in 1985 and is now possibly nearly as popular as the original Coca Cola. The only thing I've never understood about Cherry Coke is why don't they do a diet version? And why isn't it available as an alternative at McDonalds? I know there must be a reason cos if there's a money spinning idea anywhere in the world, Coca Cola will act upon it.
When you open your can of cherry coke, a slight ... ...It doesn't smell of cherry and it doesn't really smell of Coke, but it smells of SOMETHING, something nice. Pouring it into the glass I notice it isn't too fizzy, unlike the Coke with lemon which just about makes your head explode with the fizziness. Now what you've been waiting for............. the taste test! It is delicious. To be honest, it doesn't taste too much of cherries so if you're after a cherry drink go for Tango Cherry. It's more of ...

...purchase a 500ml bottle of Cherry Coke for the usual machine price of a bottle around here, 75p. Few things are quite as refreshing as your first sip of this beverage. It has a fruity kick to it which makes it quite different from your average bottle of Coke.
Unlike the lemon flavoured one it is quite a different drink and if blindfolded I doubt that I would be able to distunguish that it was a variation of Coke. It is quite sweet and leaves a refreshing ... ...flavours of two in perspective, Cherry Coke is lighter and is not quite as fizzy as Dr. Pepper which I also find quite nice. Dr. Pepper has a darker taste to it and remind me of more ripe cherries. It is safe for vegetarians and the plastic bottle can easily be recyled. I would sum up Cherry Coke as a refreshing drink that has many strong advantages and a few disadvantages. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants to try an alternative to Coke. This ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Cherry Coke"
Advantages: makes your tongue tingle, it goes great with vodka, it doesn't contain lots of sugar. Disadvantages: The look of the can is not spectacular it is actually quite boring .
I have always loved cherrycoke and I remember about ten years ago I contacted the coke company to ask if they would consider making a diet coke with cherry brand but, they said they wouldn't. They sort of fobbed me off by saying that they made too many coke flavours and were happy with what they had on the market. They then sent me a list of products they did. I never knew this was available in America I might have considered moving there just so I could taste what diet cherrycoke was like. Diet CherryCoke was introduced in 1986 to America and renamed "Diet CokeCherry" in 2005. I mean America is known for its obesity yet for once it was beating the U.K on its low fat version of cherrycoke and coca cola didn't seem to be bothered.
I was always surprised how other brands of coke had diet versions but, the cherrycoke didn ...
What with being on a diet I thought I'd try Diet CherryCoke instead of my usual choice of CherryCoke. It's got no sugar and therefore less cals a good thing I thought......
The taste of this stuff is terrible, nothing at all like normal CherryCoke, it's got a very sweet taste more like black cherry. Even though it hasn't got the sugar like the normal one it's a lot sweeter tasting. I didn't think much of the smell so knew then I shouldn't have bothered drinking it, but I did and it was not pleasant at all!!
I don't understand how the taste is so very different, coke and diet coke taste alike as do other normal and diet rannge soft drinks but it's like this isn't even the same brand :o(.
It costs £1.90 for a 2 litre bottle which isn't too bad of a price.......if you like it!! Other wise you'll be throwing £2 down the drain ...
Advantages: Healthy Disadvantages: Not very nice tasting!!
So, Diet Coke with Cherry. The quite recently updated diet version of 'Coca-Cola with Cherry' a.k.a. CherryCoke! CherryCoke is obviously a cherry tinted cola drink which has been produced for many years by the Coca-Cola comapny and is certainly one of my childhood favourites, and it still is one of my favourites in fact. The problem with CherryCoke is the incredible amount of sugar in each bottle. Each 750ml bottle of normal CherryCoke contains a whopping 58% of your daily sugars. So two bottles and your already over! There has always been a lot of worries about the Coca-Cola drinks and what it's going to do to your teeth and other parts of your body too so people are always health conscious when it comes to drinking cola. A diet version of this product to go along with the new health conscious society was long over due. It's arrival ...
