    Just a minute that all it takes to read this comforting report. The Cheshire is what I would call a family friendly society. One thing is for sure, if you think it would be well worth opening an account with them for carpetbagging purposes you are likely to be disappointed. This is one building society that is as determined as it can be to stay a members building society. Interest rates offered are not always as good as you might hope for from a non public offerer but you can rely uppon them to be fair with you and not leave you with a bad deal.     I applied on the internet for a 2 year fixed rate bond. I sent off all the relevant info to a Freepost address on 2nd January and now on 13th January I've been told that the closing date was 5th Jan and my application did not arrive until the 6th. How very convenient for the Cheshire and by which time, of course, interest rates had been reduced. I've already received back all the identity documents that you need to send so why has it taken so long to email me and why did it take so long for the application to ... more
