The 2007 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6..is a passionate piece of American Engineering. In fact as I drive past, everybody in the street has got to look at it. Its not so passionate as it is technologically advanced. This vehicle has an Aluminium frame. The roof is made of magnesium. It has a great power to weight ratio. The Chevrolet Corvette is an icon. In 1953 when the car was introduced only 300 were made and even given to people like John Wayne to look good to drive around in. 1954 came and the car had hard sales..it almost died. Its amazing that this car has made it through 6 incarnations to become the ZO6 in the 2007 model year. To me this car is the epitome everything Chevrolet can take and form into a performance car. It has 505hp, incredible brakes, incredible suspension and on top of all that..it has a head-up display, great leather powered bucket seats.

First let me take a peek at the motor. Yes that right I'm going under the "hood"...It has an Aluminium engine cradle. And I feel like a "kid in a candy store" once again. Now the ZO6 engine actually displaces 7 litres !..now let's call it what it is 427 cubic inches. There was a time in 19666/67...427 cubic inches meant big block..but now these days its actually all about small block architecture...and big block power..this engine generates a hearty 505hp to be precise with 470 lb-ft ( 637 Nm ) of torque..what does that mean ? To me it means this £ 60,000 pence change car does 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, the quarter mile in 11.7 seconds..and 198 mph top-speed. For me the fascinating performance characteristic about this car is the amazing trackability and driveability it has like in a regular everyday car. Sure it has more horsepower than anybody needs...but the reality is with this car you can also sit in traffic with the aircon and listen to the stereo. I can write all day long about this cars performance. But I'll leave it at this. It is truly the best Corvette I have ever driven and I think Chevrolet have ever built. On the outside it has a lot of special features that make this car a ZO6. Front and rear valves that separate it from the regular car. Its own special wheels and those great little gills on the side. And I love the big Chevrolet badge on the side that you can interpret...I'm faster than you and I know it !

The overall exterior look of the ZO6 I think is really great. However there are a couple of things I noticed that you can't see just by looking at the car from the outside. And one of them I'm going to point out to you right now. I write from time - to time about the door handles on cars. And let me tell you the door handle on this car, the ZO6 is quite significant...its actually electronic. So to pop the door handle...the system has to feel your fingers and the pressure on the inside to open. Now the other thing is this they've put a nice handle on the inside. if the electronics should fail you can actually pull a handle on the floor which allows the door to open. So Chevrolet were thinking when they were designing and I like that ! For me there is no better place to be in a Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 than behind the wheel..You know its amazing how much Corvette's have changed over the years, the original car seems so archaic compared to all the technology wrapped in the interior of this new car the ZO6. Navigation systems, voice-activation systems, you know everything from a six disc changer to automatic seats.

Its just amazing how the Corvette has matured from a driver's standpoint. Now yes I could find that "just-right-seating" position for either cruising or driving on a racetrack. But I believe you also get a little extra..things like a "heads-up-display" it has a couple different modes like street and track which will tell you G-force loads, oil pressure, just about any information you want. Now the ZO6 doesn't have the removable top..but for me I didn't really need it. The ZO6 harkens back whether your on the street or racetrack to what a Corvette is all about..its about performance, feeling the road, feeling that horsepower pushing you into the back of the seat..it is truly an amazing car. I don't know how many times I can say it, but this car is about performance, its about heritage, and this car brings every bit of that all together...Let me tell you If you can't find your wife or your potential wife driving this car there must something wrong with you..because the ZO6 is a magnet !
