Big jeep are today the main source of income GM. On such cars as "Suburban", "Tahoe", and "Ukon", the company earns on some thousand dollars of net profit, and machines of hundreds thousand are sold. The premiere new "Suburban" was even more long-awaited because last time classical Detroit jeep was altered with 12 years back.
" Chevrolet - Suburban " is the oldest automobile trade mark. Having appeared in far 1935, it "has overtaken" on survivability even well-known Volkswagen "Bug". 65 years of manufacture and adoration have transformed "Suburban" that it is possible to name truly American car, - " the biggest, the most reliable and the most comfortable ". Besides the most universal in application, you see it is no casual GM markets estimate internal space "Suburban" not only in ft and inches, but also in standard sheets of plywood which are applied at construction of walls of cottages and which can be transported in this machine with the closed rear cargo door.
Present " Chevrolet - Suburban " has not offered there is nothing essentially new, however to lacks it you will not attribute. The automobile is so popular and favorite by Americans, that a maximum, on what designers were solved, is to improve existing units and functions and to give to appearance of the machine modern fig. As a matter of fact, it could be named restyle, but, having remained practically constant on dimensions, the body and frame "Suburban" were made practically anew for maintenance of the even greater stiffness, toughness and safety. To innovations it is possible to relate also clasp brakes on all wheels and 8-cylinder engine "Vortek".
Nevertheless to domination "Suburban" there comes the end. On the one hand, main competitor GM - corporation " Ford "- at last has presented biggest jeep "Excursion" (which, by the way will be more GM's). With another, already it is obvious, that "Chevrolet - Suburban" / "Tahoe" - deadlock branches of development of automobiles of a similar class. Their market is limited practically only to United States, you see Europe and Japan do not understand and do not buy such vehicles, and deliveries of machines on the developing markets of South America, Russia and Africa are limited tens thousand copies. In result for such global companies as GM and "Ford", becomes economically inexpedient to develop models for the separate countries...

Interesting review, but I would love to hear more about how the car drives, how comfortable it is, what its fuel economy is, how much it costs to insure etc. All interesting, cos they are so rare. If you update, please let me know :)
