Advantages: very clever and engaging writer of classical romance Disadvantages: changed writing style more into suspense now
...hmmm.. Judith McNaught. i practically grew up with her books in hand. could not read enough back then.. started back in high school til my college years. i remembered crying and laughing with the characters, feeling like really really part of the story or more like wishing it each book is my story. lotsa bumps and creases but smooth and happy ever after in the end. then she changed writing style, now more on suspense instead of romantic classical love stories. main reason i stopped buying her books. however, i do admit re reading portions of her previous books and surprisingly, though i still enjoy reading them, relating with the characters was harder to do. guess i've seen to much of reality and life. despite, i would still recommend her previous books esp for the young at heart, enjoy it, appreciate it while one can. she writes really...

Advantages: Children love the fantasy element of a tiger coming for tea! Disadvantages: Slightly dated dress sense of the characters.
...'late 1960s' should be interested to know that in Feb 2006 a new paperback and CD will be published. In this all of the artwork will be re-originated and a fresh design approach has been adopted.......that's what they promise anyway! I'm looking forward to having a peek at this and drawing my own comparisons.
~ The style & content ~
It is a very simple story and appeals to 3 - 6 year olds.
The comical joy of this delightful book is the ease with which the two main characters accept the tiger as if they are perfectly used to having animals of this kind eating them out of house and home!
I am yet to come across a child who doesn't enjoy the fantasy of this book.
~ Judith Kerr ~

Advantages: David Bowie in 'fan stalking' shocker Disadvantages: perhaps too over-ambitious a project
...Caution: Op contains one uncensored swear Word
I read this book only last week. The one and only other time I bent it back at the spine to peruse the pages was way back in ’94, when it was first published (by Arrow). This should’ve been a big flashing, neon warning to me: ‘it’s crap, you trusting buffoon, and yes, you were able to BEND this flimsy publication! 223 pages of medium-sized writing? I've read local free papers longer than that' But I am a trusting and kind-hearted being that would never go so far as to say this book is crap. Mediocre at worst, but certainly better than most first novels. I neither love it nor loathe it nor like it excessively. I’ll probably read it again in another 7 years.
The author, Mr Robert Newman, was born on 7th July 1964 and adopted by a working class family...
