Chicco London Stroller

Advantages: Raincover and cosytoes included in price. Several recline positions. Easy to fold
Disadvantages: Not the lightest stroller on the market & no carry handle. Not freestanding when folded.

I bought this as a second pushchair to take on a short break when my son was 5 months old. I don't drive so needed something lightweight to carry on and off the train and something that folded easily and compactly. As my son was not yet sitting unaided I also needed something that offered good back support and had plenty of recline positions. I didn't expect to use it much after our holiday so wanted something inexpensive and this stroller met all my criteria. The pushchair came with a raincover and cosytoes that doubled as a fleece liner and when I bought it in Winter 2006 cost £49.99 which in my opinion was excellent value for money. It is umbrella folding and with practice I could do this one handed although I found the locking clip tended to get caught and after a this happened a few times it got bent out of shape so didn ...

Chicco Stroller

Advantages: Compact, light weight, quite sturdy.
Disadvantages: Small basket, not for newborns

I wanted to get an umbrella stroller for my toddler as my other buggy is a graco travel system and very bulky when in the car. I was looking for something not too expensive, but also not so cheap that it will fall apart after a year. I found the Chicco stroller online and the wheels aren't tiny and it comes in funky colours, so I got it for about £30 which isn't so bad. It's very lightweight and simple to put up and take down. It doesn't ride heavy. My son is almost three and it isn't hard to push. Sometimes though the wheel locks itself and I have a problem turning it and have to unlock it again as they are swivel wheels. It comes with a rain cover which is useful. The only thing is, when my son is tired and falls asleep in it, the seat doesn't rest very far back. ...

Review of Chicco Xplorer Stroller

London Stroller by Chicco

Advantages: Lightweight, compact, easy to fold
Disadvantages: Fiddly harness, difficult to clean

I wanted an umbrella-fold stroller in addition to my 'big' pushchair and after some cursory research on the internet this one seemed to fit the bill. What I like about it is the fact that it is light-weight and easy to manouvre. The front wheels swivel for easy steering, but you can also lock the wheels which can be useful on uneven ground. My husband is 6'7" and finds that he can push the stroller fine, so despite the fact that the handles aren't adjustable, I would say that most people will be able to push it comfortably. The stroller looks smart - the hood and cosy toes look nice and sporty. There is an adjustable footrest which is obviously useful as your child grows. I believe that the child sits a little higher off the ground which is a benefit. The rain hood is very easy to fit - attaches with velcro to the handles ...
