Review of "Chicco Polly Double Phase High Chair"
Now when it was time to buy my daughter her highchair i was gob smacked by the amount of different types out on the market. When i brought my sons a few years ago, i chose the wooden type that converts into a table and chair after you finshed with it as a highchair. The down side to this one was that it was only really suitable for children who could really sit unaided.however he still uses as a play table to this day.
So, armed with the task of getting a new one, i decided not to buy the same as before. After much disscussion with my partner i was looking for cheap and he was well just looking, for what i thought was the most expensive one he could find when he showed me the chicco polly in the mothercare catologue.I was'nt to comfortable spending £100.00 on a highchair, i thought surely there is a cheaper one with the same features.
****The polly highchair boasts the following features:****A 4 position adjustable tray, with food tray which clips onto main highchair tray.
This is great because all you have to do is simply unclip the top tray cover and then you have a clean highchair surface. I dish betsys dinner up on the tray, bring it out and then after can just take it off and wash it straight up, which from a hegine point of veiw is great. It has a handy parent tray, fitted to leg for ease of use.
Small feature can't say it makes a difference to me but does come in use occasionally. It has a 3 position, adjustable reclining seat.
Which for me is a must. This is great cause i find the chair perfect for them little afternoon naps, and with the lie right back option my daughter is very comfortable. It has a deep-padded, comfortable seat.
It comes with two cushions, the top one is for use with the smaller child, but then when you want to use the chair for an older child you simply just take off the top one. They recommend the chair is suitable for 6 months plus, but any parent knows each child grows at different stages. It has 7 height positions available.
This means i can use it for sitting betsy at the dining table , and i can also sit on the sofa and comfortabley feed her with out getting backache.A height- and angle-adjustable footrest.
This means i can flip the foot rest to 90 degrees and lie the back right down at the same time and its as if she is lieing almost flat. You can alter the height of the foot rest to accomdate when your child grows. It has a completley removable and wipe clean, PVC seat cover .
Which as any parent knows is a complete must. cant think how many times i have had to completely dettol that chair!! all the reins come away from the chair allowing me to put them in the washing machine...after a episode of betsy and baked beans.A down side i have found is now i have removed the top cushion, where the rein strap goes between the legs has started to cause the cushion to rip. exposing the foam. On search for a replacement as my youngest will soon be needing use of the chair i found it near on impossible to get a replacement. chicco apparently don't do replaements. However, i have managed to find someone on ebay who will supply me with one for £30. have yet to get this, as £30 still feels a bit steep but i suppose you pay for the fact they are hard to find.
The sizes of the chair are as follows:Seat height: 38-64cm
Unfolded: 109 x 80 x 54cmFolded: 90 x 25 x 54cm
Weight: 9.2kgI have seen two versions of this chair, one with wheels and one without. Mine has no wheels can't say it makes much difference.
They come in different colour ranges, just depends where you get it from. All seem to be fine.
So, yes this chair has been of great use to me, and yes i am glad i chose this one....all be it costing £100.00 but then again i will be using it for two children.I have seen it on offer at the moment in toys'r'us for £85.00.
Even more annoying i saw it a blackbushe market for £50.00 a few months later. Nothing worse then seeing something half the price. So yes i would recommend it, just for its flexability and it compact storage.
