...have heard of the book Chicken Soup For The Soul - the original, which I am reviewing now, has sold eight million copies worldwide, there have been dozens of follow ups and it has even featured in an episode of Friends! I must say though, that up until a few weeks ago when I bought it on a whim in WH Smiths, I had no idea what it actually was!
For those of you who don't know, it's a collection of short stories, poems, cartoons and other bits and ... ...Some people have described Chicken Soup as a kind of bible to live your life by, and I can see why they say that. It's like a self help book in a way. Behind the sugary sentimentality there's a lot of good advice. Sometimes they do present it in a very sickly manner, but I can forgive that!
