The topic of children that kill will always raise debate and controversy about why they did it, should they be tried as adult, what level of responsibility and understanding they hold etc etc For me i find the subject of killers interesting, although having read some books in my time that are purley written to shock. this is not one of them. She approaches the topic from a subtal angle, explaining much about the childs history as well as their crimes.
