"Only children know what they are looking for"
Review of The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupery by tazzywazzy

Advantages: Remembering the truth
Disadvantages: Adults have forgotten the truth

...stoopid Tazzy ramblings and onto the good stuff...the review, I have decided to re-write my first ever review, I really did not do the book any justice the first time round, so here goes! ~Gather round children, you might learn something new~ This is undoubtedly the most famous piece of work by the French author Antoine de Saint-Exupery, and although a children's novel has a lot of underlying, very adult, messages about perception, love, relationships ...
...the younger readers. This little book has been translated into about 160 different languages, sold over 50 million copies, think it was made into an opera a couple of years ago, and has even had it's own anime series (spanning 39 episodes). Saint Exupery's love in life was being a pilot, but he was forced by his fiancée's family to take a desk job in Paris, which he did, but eventually their engagement was called off, and he returned to flying. ... Noisy Fun
Review of Pip The Puppy - Axel Scheffler by belfin

Advantages: Fun but noisy book
Disadvantages: Batteries will go dead at some point.

...in rhyme to describe how Pip loves to woof all day long, every day and how it frightens all the animals and the postman when he calls in the morning. If fact the only time this pup is quiet is when he is asleep. "You know what I think? If Pip had his way, he'd spend the whole day woof-woofing away!" ***The Illustrations*** This book is set out to show text on the left hand page on a white background with a small picture of something that features ...
...both people and animals. Pip looks very cheeky and mischievous as he chases the postman down the path and digs in the park's flowerbeds. Although he annoys everyone I think he still looks like a very lovable scruffy pup, and is very appealing to children. My 4 year old son has great fun with this book as he loves making a noise and the only thing that concerns me is that there is no way of changing the battery should it decide to die. We haven't ... What A Croaker!
Review of Freddy The Frog - Axel Scheffler by belfin

Advantages: Kids love the sound button
Disadvantages: Adults may not love the sound button first thing in the morning

...race and then we see Freddy taking a relaxing nap. The books ends with, “And when the stars come out and the moon is bright, What Freddy loves best is to croak through the night.” ***The Illustrations*** This book has bold black text on a white background, at one side of the double page. The other side shows comical pictures of what Freddy is getting up to. The pictures are clear and bright and there is no mistaking the similarity between these ...
...***The Croaker*** Just as with Pip the Puppy, this book has a button on the front that makes a noise. As you would expect with a book about a frog, it’s a croaking sort of noise. This is quite a gentle sound unlike some of these noisy books and it does seem to have lasted quite well. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any way of changing the battery so if it does stop working then you can’t replace it. ***My Thoughts*** This board book is ... Read review

Having fun down on the farm!
Review of Muddle Farm - Axel Scheffler by kingfisher111

Advantages: A great magnetic play book!
Disadvantages: none!

...quite simple telling of Farmer Muddle and the fact that everything is in a bit of a muddle on his farm. The four pages also progress throughout a typical day starting with when the animals wake up, moving on to when they eat and eventually with them all getting ready to sleep at night! On each of the pages though your child is asked to do something specific with the magnetic animals. For example on one page they have to place the adult animals next ...
...to the food they are likely to eat. This can prompt quite a lot of discussion about the different animals and the sorts of things they do. On the first page the children are encouraged to make all the different animal noises which I'm sure you can imagine is often a bit noisy. Finally, on the last page all the animals are put to bed and they can go back in their barn again. Peace at last! My youngest daughter was given this for her second birthday ... Read review

A Visit to hospital
Review of Katie Goes to the Hospital - Brimax Books by lyndsayw

Advantages: helps children if they are worried
Disadvantages: could be a little longer

...going to review is called Katie goes to the Hospital. On the front cover there is a blue trim around the edge and the back ground is in yellow the title is in big red letters with a picture of Katie sitting on the hospital bed holding her teddy with a nurse talking to her and her mum next to her. Katie has to go into hospital to have a operation the book explains how Katie doesn't want to go as she is scared it goes threw step by step of what she ...
...to write to much as its only a short story and i will spoil it. The pictures in the book are lovely and the detail is great the child can see clearly what's going on if they cant read and is looking at the book by themselves. I love this book as it helps children realise that its not all that bad to go into hospital and have a operation so if your child is going in to hospital i think this book is a must as it will help them to stop being so worried ...
