Noughts and Crosses
Review of Noughts And Crosses - Malorie Blackman by wantaratgirl

Advantages: Lots of interesting and thoughtful plots to throw you.
Disadvantages: Can get rather slow in the middle.

I have rated this book 4/5 star. It is a deep and meaningful book all about apartheid. It is a reverse of the British apartheid in South Africa, as Sephy and Callum (main characters) live in a world where white people are second best and black people are rich and powerful. This is a very compelling book. It is not to be read if you are looking something light and cheerful. I would recommend this book to anyone in their teens to adults as it is not ... Read review

On Cloud Nine
Review of Mr Daydream - Roger Hargreaves by MI9to5

Advantages: Lovely character
Disadvantages: N/A

Mr Daydream is another Mr Men story from the Mr Men Collection written by Roger Hargreaves, which contains 46 books. Mr Daydream is number 13 in the series and is a pale blue cloud shaped character with a very broad grin. This is the picture of him that is one the front of the book, which is itself small square and white. Mr Daydream's name is then printed above this picture in bold block capitals. On turning the book over you can then see smaller ...
...format as all the other Mr Men stories with writing on the left hand side of the book and colourful pictures on the right. The pictures are extremely bright and cartoon like and so ensure a child's attention is captured throughout the duration of the story but the writing itself although their isn't much of it making the books great for bedtime, it can be rather small. The book itself is a story about Mr Daydream and this is exactly how the story ... Read review

There's a What in Where?
Review of There's a Wocket in My Pocket - Dr. Seuss by sewbizzie

Advantages: Fun, easy to read Dr Seuss Book
Disadvantages: None

There's A Wocket in my Pocket is a wonderful book from Dr Seuss. It is a yellow back book which is designed for young reader. The cover of the book is yellow with a fun picture of a boy with a funny looking green creature sticking out of his back pocket. It has a bright red border around the outside. The back cover of the book is also yellow and has a list of other books available in the yellow back collection. Not sure what the picture is which ...
...of this book so please ignore it. The story starts by asking if you ever had a feeling there was a wasket in your basket, or a nureau in your bureau? The story then goes on to move around the house with the boy and showing other rooms with funny legs or creatures hiding in place. Through out the book there is a rhyming theme and the name of the creature rhymes with the place it is hiding, for example, a jertain in the certain, a zlock behind the ... Read review

It does DRAGON a bit (sorry for the bad pun)
Review of Brisingr (Inheritance Cycle) - Christopher Paolini by midpikyrozziy

Advantages: Great imaginative world, good characters and descriptions
Disadvantages: Plot a bit muddled, some disapppointing anticlimaxes

Brisingr is the third of four in the Inheritance Cycle, a series currently being written by Christopher Paolini. Intro Eragon, the main character in the series, and name of the first book, came into being when Christopher Paolini started to write the novel aged 15, after completing his high school diploma. Upon completion and publication in 2003, the book immediately hit success, becoming the third highest selling hardback book of 2003, ...
...by the earlier two, and Brisingr is still a worthwhile addition to the Inheritance cycle, and a good read. I would recommend it to anyone aged 11+ who enjoyed the Lord of the Rings books, as it is the same sort of genre and style, just in a more readable style for younger readers. Overall, I do think you should read this book, some of the scenes are great, but the story is a bit too muddled, and there are some great anticlimaxes. Let's hope that ... Read review

Strange lacy trousers like the grandfather bird
Review of Nation - Terry Pratchett by runetune

Advantages: Some excellent writing, some of Terry Pratchetts best in a long time
Disadvantages: Is slightly darker than other Terry Pratchett Works.

Nation by Terry Pratchett. ~ About the Author ~ Terry Pratchett is one of the best known of Fantasy writers out there. He began writing in 1983, and when I first began reading his books (I read his second novel The Light Fantastic just after publication) no-one really knew who he was! It couldn't be more different today, and this has lead to one bizarre claim to fame - In the UK, he holds the record for the greatest number of books that are shoplifted! ...
...rare exceptions to this and Nation is chaptered). His style, for me at least - is pretty unique. Pterry was a journalist, who admits that he would write about his experiences while working as a press officer for the Central Electricity Generating board (CEGB) which including covering nuclear power stations - If he thought he would be believed! Unfortunately he has recently been diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's, but has pledged to carry on ... Read review
