Noughts and Crosses - the first in a gripping series Advantages: Tragedy, Romance, Hope, Politics and Action all rolled into one something for everyone Disadvantages: short, points brought across a little too soon Noughts and Crosses is a must read book for people of all ages (i recommend 12+). through out this book i was oohing and aahing not willing to put the book down. When it came to finishing the first i had to move onto the second book (An Eye For An Eye), going out the next day to buy the rest of the series. But focusing on this book. Its a tragic tale (and dare i say it) "of two star-crossed lovers" but with twists and turns around every corner, when ... ...next. We start the novel following young Callum McGregor and young Sephy Hadley across the field playing as if their was no problems in the world and at that age why should their be they didn't have a care in the world he was a boy and she was a girls to them there was no other differences. Little do they know in the not so distant future they begin to learn What their differences are. The boy in the striped pyjamas : A sad but true story Advantages: It tells the truth about what life was like for some people. Disadvantages: There are none. In my opinion for the looks of the book i think it has an excellent book cover which can give many ideas to what it is about and can be quite upsetting depending on which way you interprit it. I got the book as a birthday present and as i started to read it, it became an obsession as i wanted to find out what happened. It is a real clifhanger at the end and when i finished the book , i sat down for half-an-hour and just thought about it. I did cry ... ...war 2, germany and tells the tale of a young boy and his life living in a new place, his new friend and finally how this story ends. I happily paid my 20p and hurried home to start reading the story to my 5-year-old son. The Story. ********* Joe, Beth and Frannie move to the country when their father gets a new job. Do you dare read this on Halloween night ? Advantages: Ffun read great book for beginner readers Disadvantages: None Bears in the night This is the first "ghost" story my daughter ever heard. Sally my daughter was born in 1978 this book was published in 1971, I had read it before to children at work. This book is suitable for children from a very young age it is a Beginner's book, edited by Dr Seuss published by Random house. Are you sitting comfortably then I will begin to tell you about the story. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are 7 bears "In bed" The word "WHOOOOO" ... ...go "To the window". Handa's Surprise - A Book With Fabulous Illustrations and Humour Advantages: Good story, great use of colour Disadvantages: None Handa's Surprise I was working in the school library, when I stumbled across this book - it brought back memories of when I used to read it both to my own children and also the children in my class. What is it all about? This is a beautifully illustrated picture book published by Walker Books. It starts with a foreword that says " The children featured in this book are from the Luo tribe of South West Kenya. It tells the tale of Handa. She ... ...her she carries 7 fruits which she thinks Akeyo may like. Now the journey is long way and she carries the fruit on her head in a basket. Along the way she passes many animals, who help themselves to the fruit out of her basket and it looks as if she will have nothing by the time she arrives to see her friend.
