Dancing Dipsy entertains my son!
Review of Dipsy Dances - BBC Books by
mummy2harry
Advantages: Bright colours, the teletubbies, simple text and language
Disadvantages: None
...title of the book is Dipsy Dances, all the teletubbies feature equally in the book. There is a book for each teletubby in the range, but I haven't tried any of those yet. Each teletubby has a double paged spread in which they do some sort of movement i.e. dancing, jumping and marching.
The interactive element for children is on every page. Along the bottom of the page, there is a raised line which follows the path of the teletubby across the page, ... ...line with their finger, my son does try on his own but ends up jabbing the book rather than following the line!
The text on the pages is very simple as well. It says something like "Dipsy dancing." on the page, obvioulsy it varies according to the teletubby and what movement they are doing. Then they have a few silly words such as "Bup-a-tum, bup-a-tum!" and my son loves it when I say this in a silly voice!
The book has 12 board pages, including ...

Touch and Feel with the Teletubbies
Review of Teletubbies: Feels Lovely! - BBC Books by
mummy2harry
Advantages: Interesting touch patches, bright colours, bold photography
Disadvantages: None
This book is the latest addition to my son's ever growing Teletubbies book collection, and already one of his favourites. It is a great touch-and-feel book featuring the ever lovable Teletubbies, and their typical brightly coloured simple text books.
This book is another board book with the Teletubbies, and is aimed at toddlers and pre-school children. There isn't a story as such in this book, there are just statements and questions, as well as ... ...feel patches are what makes this book such a hit with Harry. He knows exactly where to put his hands when I turn the pages, and sits there stroking it with his fingers giggling until I turn the page again.
There are double paged spreads throughout the book, and one teletubby takes up a double page. The first pages feature the Teletubby Po, and a big picture of a lamb on the opposite page. The text reads "One day in Teletubbyland, something appeared ...

Fun interactive book featuring the fab teletubbies
Review of Time for Teletubbies - BBC Books by
mummy2harry
Advantages: Fun, lovely bright photography, push out characters
Disadvantages: Losing the pieces
...this book I am reviewing, Time for Teletubbies.
Time for Teletubbies is another book in the popular Teletubbies book series by BBC books. This one is slightly different to normal reading books for toddlers though. This book has a press out and play element to it, which makes it much more interesting for toddlers to sit and read. At the front of the book, there are 4 push out teletubby pictures, which are to be used throughout the book. These are ... ...page. It has the title Time For Teletubbies diagonally across the right side, and Press Out and Play in the bottom right corner.
The book used a double-paged spread to tell its story, well not so much a story but pages of pictures of the teletubbies and facts about them. For example the first page reads "The Teletubbies love playing with their favourite things". Then across the 2 pages, there are pictures of each of the 4 teletubbies with their ...

I can count!
Review of Count on Goz - Steve Weatherill by
danielalong
Advantages: Lovely way to start to count
Disadvantages: None
Count On Goz by Steve Weatherill
A great way for very young children to be introduced to counting up to 5 and to learn about number formation. Children do tend to enjoy lift the flap books, so it's almost certainly going to be a winner.
Many children will already be familiar with Goz, the appealing yellow gosling. This time, we meet Goz in the early morning, near the river when everything is quiet.
A little yellow goose is bottoms up... "Who's ... ...as developing an ability to count and recognise numbers to 5. The simple text means that it is suitable for National Curriculum Reading, because children can easily see and be encouraged to point out capital letters, full stops and question marks. Because the animals are easily distinguishable, even if they can't read the words, they can be encouraged to use picture clues.
A useful book for very young children who are beginning to count.
Thanks ...

The amazing Terry does it again!
Review of The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents - Terry Pratchett by
atytyut2434
Advantages: Talking Rats!
Disadvantages: A Trombone with keys
...from lack of food.
The rats are great characters and their gradual discovery that the book they thought was factual is a childrens story. A mayors curious daughter who spends her time searching for stories that she is sure must exist.
This book has a great outcome, a brilliant match of who is the greatest Rat Piper with Keith managing to win using a trombone (which has keys if you own a 1st edition but has been corrected to not having keys in later ...
