Advantages: educational, interesting story, great pictures Disadvantages: none
...won’t write a review on The very Hungry Caterpillar until I know its text by heart. Today my son asked me to read him the book. Naturally he asked me while I was cooking the lunch so I asked him to sit down near me and turn the page when I say so. I told him the story by heart and I didn’t cheat. It is incredible that this book is 40 years old! The kids still love it! I bought it on Amazon for about 4 pounds, I cannot remember the exact price. It ... ...you actually buy it because the price can vary. The price on the book is 5.99 pounds. I bought several copies of it because usually I buy a copy for my sons’ friends as well. They live overseas so they don’t have English books for sure. All of them studies English so it is educational and interesting for them. The Very Hungry Caterpillar was written by Eric Carle. He is an American children’s book writer and illustrator. The Very Hungry Caterpillar ...

A gRATifying read!
Advantages: great read Disadvantages: none
...my daughter spotted a book that she knew well as it had been read many times at her nursery. The said book - That Pesky Rat - is written by the excellent Lauren Child, whose books we always look out for ever since my daughters fell in love with her creations of Charlie and Lola. I didn't know this book but I was impressed to note on the front cover that it was the gold winner of the Smarties Book Prize in 2002! I have to confess that I am not the ... ...rat. But people call me that pesky rat. I don't know why. They say I smell, But that's not my fault, it's the dirt'. You get the sense that this rough is quite a tough operator but that he has a soft sensitive side too. This becomes particularly apparent as he describes all of his friends who all are somebody's pet! For example his friend Pierre, who is a chinchilla is looked after by Madame Fifi, a very rich lady. However, life is not always a bed ...

Email alert, email alert!!!!!!!!!!!
Advantages: a brilliant captivating book Disadvantages: need to read it all in one day
...are, but personally she is the best author I have ever come across. My view may change as I get older, but at this current time its Meg Cabot that I'm obsessed with and this book showed why.
Now I believe that I'll NEVER come across a book styled in this way. No author, as far as I know, has even attempted such a style of writing. Meg Cabot, in my opinion, took a chance with this book and it apparently has turned out brilliantly. And what am I talking ... ...she had printed off all the emails she's ever had and all her friends and created it into a book. This is why Meg Cabot is inspirational and should be known for all the books she has ever written. Now you tell me, have you come across a book made purely out of emails?
She is one clever author because she manages to keep the audience (us readers) engaged thoroughly. Somehow she managed to make a book about hardly anything at all, just emails. I don't ...

Another great book for children
Advantages: beautiful illustrations Disadvantages: none
...got this one out of the library the other day and in our opinion (Noah can't speak yet but I'll speak for him!) it's just as good as the caterpillar.
Whats the story about?
Having been given the name 'The very busy Spider', it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's about a very busy spider. The spider starts to spin a web and on each page a different animal asks it if it wants to play with them. For example the cow says 'Moo, moo want to ... ...busy spinning her web'. As the book progresses the web gets bigger and bigger untilt he cockeral asks her if she wants to catch a fly at which point she does. It ends with the owl asking who built this beautiful web but guess what? 'The spider didn't answer because she had fallen asleep'.
The text
There isn't alot of text on each page and it's great for young children because t's very repetative and once they learn to speak they can join in with ...

the hunger games was a brilliant book
Advantages: thrilling and captivating story Disadvantages: somtimes is quite sad though this is not much of a disadvantage
The Hunger Games is in my opinion one of the best reads out there, it is a tale of a post war continent with 12 districts. there used to be 13 but it was wiped out, to remind them of who has the power the capital of this place holds the hunger games each year in which two kids aged from 12 - 18 compete to the death, if you win you come home to your district to live in comfort and glory. i am a fanatic reader and soend the most of my time reading ... ...that i have read, but the hunger games is one of these books and i would like to congratulate suzzane collins on her great success. this book has lots of action and this is what origionally captured my intrest as it does again and again, but then there are also the emotional parts of the book which can really make you cry. its an amazing talent to also weave a romance of any kind in to such a brutal story, especcially when the main characters are ...
