And Really Wished She Hadn't.....
Review of What Janie Found - Caroline B. Cooney by zoe_page

Advantages: Concludes the series nicely, as usual well written and entertaining
Disadvantages: Not the end I would have wished for

...bit more and Janie determines what really happens and traces and meets her birth family. Lots of other stuff happens – 3 books worth in fact – but that’s not important here. This book: Carrying straight on from “The Voice on the Radio” (book 3 in the series), this book tells us of Janie’s life at the moment. Things have settled down, and her 2 families are beginning to get on ok. When her (adopted / kidnapping) ...
...realization that everything is not what it seems. Even the messed up world she’s currently living in, with 2 families and a lot of confusion, is nothing compared to this and she does the typical Janie thing of acting first and thinking later. The good stuff: Imagine you’re young. Younger than you are. Younger than I am. For someone in that position, this book is amazing. It is well written in a simple, laid back style, and has just ... Times that should never been forgotten ...
Review of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - John Boyne by michaleks

Advantages: easy to read
Disadvantages: sadness of the history

...Jewish and German boy during the Holocaust. I enjoyed this book very much as it relates to history of my country, Poland and times that should never been forgotten. This book is recommended for readers who are familiar of what happened to Jews during the Word War II. Easy to read book keeps you going with two different perspectives of two nine year old friends on what was going on in extermination camps. Bruno's innocent view on the situation and ... Read review

Rebound/Sharpay And The Sharpettes
Review of Battle Of The Bands - N. B. Grace by Jonni_boi

Advantages: Great Read
Disadvantages: not a lot of info and pretty short

Now people may call me obsessed with High School Musical, I personally don't think I am, I only have all the DVDs and all the music and maybe a few special items, but surely that doesn't make me obsessed, does it? Anyway, I just couldn't resist getting the book! N.B. Grace has made this story brilliant. I was mesmerised in seconds. Sharpay is signed up and she and her girls are doing a band called Sharpay and The Sharpettes. But Gabriella wants ...
...realised that Gabriella wants to be in it and decides to group the basketball team as a band calling themselves REBOUND. What is Ryan and Gabriella supposed to do? They've been shoved out of what they're supposed to be doing and left to be in the audience, but Ms Darbus, has one cracking idea: Gabriella is to do a solo. And Gabriella's happy to be going on stage, but then she notices Ryan is left out, and then its Gabriella to think up a great plan ... Read review

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review

...buy dozens and not break the bank. One of my latest purchases for the princely sum of 10p is the owl who was afraid of the dark by Jill Tomlinson. The story. ******** The story is about plop a baby barn owl who is just like any other barn owl expect that he is scared of the dark. Plops mother suggests that he asks a little boy on the ground about the dark. Plop flies down and lands with a somersault. The boy tells Plop that dark is exciting especially ...
...of the fireworks but is still not convinced about the dark. The next day mother owl suggests that plop asks an old lady in a deckchair about the dark. The old lady tells Plop that the dark is kind and allows her to sit and remember all the good times in her life. Plop remains unconvinced. Next Plop visits a little girl who tells Plop dark is necessary to allow Father Christmas to come. Plop doesn't have a stocking to hang up and there is a charming ... Read review

Noughts and Crosses
Review of Noughts And Crosses - Malorie Blackman by wantaratgirl

Advantages: Lots of interesting and thoughtful plots to throw you.
Disadvantages: Can get rather slow in the middle.

I have rated this book 4/5 star. It is a deep and meaningful book all about apartheid. It is a reverse of the British apartheid in South Africa, as Sephy and Callum (main characters) live in a world where white people are second best and black people are rich and powerful. This is a very compelling book. It is not to be read if you are looking something light and cheerful. I would recommend this book to anyone in their teens to adults as it is not ... Read review
