"I was once happy, and carefree, and young..."
Review of I had trouble getting to Solla Sollew - Dr. Seuss by Kukana

Advantages: Clever use of words, memorable, amusing, great pictures, thought-provoking message underlying
Disadvantages: None

...part of his books. I expect his best known work is 'The Cat in the Hat', a delightful tale of a badly-behaved cat who creates havoc in the home of two worried children. To me, however, Dr Seuss's work is worth reading most of all because in so many of his books there is an underlying low-key but important message, presented with humour and caricature, that nonetheless helps children absorb useful truths. This isn't really the case in 'The Cat in ...
...sprain bones, as far as I know!) 'Well,' we are told, 'I never had ever had troubles before, and I said to myself, "I don't want any more! If I watch out for rocks with my eyes straight ahead, I'll keep out of trouble forever!" I said. Sadly this wise advice didn't work, as he was quickly surrounded by further troubles, and learned that they can arrive from all directions. While he is still totally surrounded by various problems, a chap rumbles ... Read review

I can read Mississippi with my eyes shut tight.
Review of I Can Read with My Eyes Shut - Dr. Seuss by Haxrskilz

Advantages: Poetic, teaches rhyming.
Disadvantages: Adults may find illustrations disturbing.

...of the story. For example: I can read in red. I can read in blue. I can read in pickle color too. I can read in bed, and in purple, and in brown. I can read in a circle and upside down. It is based entirely on reading, and when being read, the actions within the poems can be repeated by the reader, making the book more entertaining and interactive. *Other* I find that this book is rather useful for younger readers who struggle to read, as well ...
...most certainly an interesting read for the younger audience who will be sure to appreciate the book better than most. And let's not forget the appearance of Dr Seuss' traditional characters, as shown on the cover, the Cat in the Hat - a trade mark feature to children everywhere as a sign of Dr Seuss' magical world. ... ...to write to much as its only a short story and i will spoil it. The pictures in the book are lovely and the detail is great the child can see clearly what's going on if they cant read and is looking at the book by themselves. I love this book as it helps children realise that its not all that bad to go into hospital and have a operation so if your child is going in to hospital i think this book is a must as it will help them to stop being so worried ... Dark Vs Light
Review of The Spook's Battle (Wardstone Chronicles) - Joseph Delaney by slik321

Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: just want more and more

...to live.... well not really. The spooks battle is the fourth books by Joseph Delaney in his exuberantly rich children's series, the Wardstone chronicles. The series follows the life of young Tom Ward who is the seventh son of a seventh son and is sent by his mam and dad to join John Gregory who is an old and experienced spook (a spook is someone who battles the dark e.g. witches and Bogart's) to teach him the trade. As you may have already rightly ...
...force to be reckoned with. The Spooks Battle is the fourth book in this originally simple story yet so superbly written. It is set in the County, (in a BBC interview the author revealed that "In truth, that county is Lancashire") if you would like to read the profile of Joseph Delaney you can copy the link beneath into your web browser and take a gander for yourself. http://www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire/content/articles/2007/07/09/josephdela neyfeature.shtml ...
