ST CLARES - MORE JOLLY HOCKYSTICKS!
Review of Enid Blyton's Third Form at St.Clare's - Enid Blyton by
kismet
Advantages: a gentle read, loved it when i was a kid
Disadvantages: bit out of date nowadays
...school series also written by Enid Blyton. There are 6 books in this series:
The Twins at St Clares
The O'Sullivan Twins
Summer Term at St Clares
Second Form at St Clares
Claudine at St Clares
Fifth Formers at St Clares
The twins - Pat & Isobel O'Sullivan - are sent to St Clares boarding school and they are not very happy about it. They wanted to go to a posher school where all of their friends are going, so they decide to look down their ... ...studies.
One theme of Enid Blytons books is the good will usually prevail, for example, something bad will happen to a bad person, or the character will somehow come good by the end of the books.
There are the usual pranks, midnight feast, "ragging" (playing tricks) on pupils and teachers and of course they play lacrosse and do a lot of sport.
I think that Malory Towers was better than St Claires, but this is still a good read

A mummy's career!
Review of Mummy Dearest! (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) - Mel Odom by
Amy69
Advantages: gripping, strong characters, educational
Disadvantages: some words can be difficult for youngers!
I bought this particular book from Swapitshop for a fantastic 800 swapits; a great bargain for a book that arrived in such superb condition! After eagerly awaiting its arrival through the post, I was delighted when I heard the thud of the parcel at the door. It was time for the magic to begin!
So, who is Sabrina?
Sabrina, played by actress Melissa Joan Hart, is a teenage witch living in the mortal realm in America, initially with her two Aunts; ... ...once a warlock sentenced to 100 years as a house pet for attempted world domination). Now, she attends Westbridge High with her boyfriend Harvey. Sabrina the Teenage Witch was a hit TV series in the 90s, with a total of eight series aired. Although it is no longer in production, it is still popular. Each episode takes us on a fascinating journey into the young witch's life, where we see her attempt to cope with being both a witch and a teenager at ...

Slinky Malinki Catflaps
Review of Slinky Malinki Catflaps - Lynley Dodd by
giantpanda21
Advantages: Great read
Disadvantages: none
...book in the series of Slinky Malinki by Lynley Dodd. Slinky Malinki is a cute little black cat with yellow eyes and this is a review about Slinky Malinki catflaps.
The book is about Slinky Malinki and he is layed on a raggedy rug and wakes up to wash himself and then goes outside to meet his friends. He meets Greywacke Jones and Butterball Brown who came out the shadows of a tree, Pimpernel Pugh and Mushroom Magee who came up through the leaves ... ...told to be quiet and Slinky Malinki ends back on the raggedy rug in front of the fire.
The illustrations in the book are brilliant they describe the book as you are reading through it so you know what is going on. My opinion Slinky Malinki Catflaps is that it is a great rhymatic book and it is suitable from children 3 years up to adult as i love to read this book to my son and he sits on my lap until i have read all the way through. I would recommend ...

Ghostly Goings On
Review of I Want My Light On - Tony Ross by
belfin
Advantages: Lovely addition to the series
Disadvantages: None
...out.
***My Thoughts***
I think parents will agree that their child has been afraid of something at night at some stage. My son has never really been that bothered about monsters but is at the stage where every little sound has to be explained, especially now that the nights and mornings are darker again. Books like this one are great for making children see that even though there is something there, it is probably more scared of them than they ... ...Titles In This Series***

Disadvantages: small writing
Mr Forgetful is number 14 in the Mr Men collection. He is a round shaped man and is a dark blue colour. He wears a little red hat.
The cover of the book is white and has a picture of Mr Forgetful and the title in black lettering above this. The back cover of the book is also white and has small pictures showing the other characters in the collection.
THE STORY
The book starts by telling us that it is a beautiful summer morning and Mr Forgetful ... ...through the window and wakes Mr Forgetful, he then tries to remember what he was dreaming about. Mr Forgetful could not remember what his dream was as he always forgets and never ever remembers anything.
