Junk by Melvin Burgess

Advantages: raw account of a teenage girl who has ran away, exciting feel which is also very personal
Disadvantages: Some aspects of the book are aimed more at teenagers, then adults.

Junk by Melivin Burgess is definitely one of the best books I have ever read. It shows the reader why people are attracted to drugs from a very raw and emotional point of view and how they make the characters feel. From my personal point of view, the book shows the journey of a young girl caught up in the excitement of a party lifestyle that leads her gradually to become heroin addict. Biggles,Simple books for the young or addictive friend for life?

Advantages: Great language and narrative that bridges across generations
Disadvantages: That good that the disadvantage is there can never be enough of them!

My first encounter with with Biggles his faithful sopwith Camel and friends came when my uncle first read one the Stories to me. From the the very first moment I was hooked. Ho Ho Ho - Snappy Christmas!

Advantages: A fun book full of pop ups
Disadvantages: Noisy
