Re: The Hunger Games by: Suzanne Collins Review
Advantages: Thrilling, Suspenseful, Perfect blend of every factor. Disadvantages: Slightly difficult to comprehend at first, but once you understand the rhythm, you will be hooked.
The Hunger Games by: Suzanne Collins The Hunger games was an absolutely phenomenal book! It was a perfect blend of horror, romance, suspense, as well as many themes of politics. The bizarre theme the story revolved around was intriguing and you can easily bond with each character. The novel is about a teenage girl and boy from a district chosen to participate in a game known as "The Hunger Games." In the game, they compete with 23 other teenagers ... ...survival. The last one standing wins and is allowed to live the rest of their life in comfort in luxury. The Hunger Games is a jaw clenching story that will leave the reader restless throughout this tale of the odds. I would most definitely read this again, even though the thrill and suspense factors are not as high the second time around. Once you begin reading, you are absolutely hooked and won't put it down. The characters are easy to bond with, ...

Advantages: Wonderful little book Disadvantages: None at all
...the extreme. The Mr Men is a collection of books by Roger Hargreaves, published by Thurman Publishing Ltd. Each book was based on a different character, such as Mr Strong, or Mr Cool also the "Little Miss" characters (such as Little Miss Busy, or Little Miss Greedy) - but they were never really as famous, and there was never the fan base that arose out of the Mr Men Series. There are 46 Mister Men Books and 33 Litle Miss books. After Roger Hargreaves ... ...illustrating new stories involving the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters, including the creation of ten new characters, four of which were inspired by work Roger Hargreaves had produced before his death. Mr. Tickle was the first Mr. Men character created by Hargreaves after his son, Adam, asked him what a tickle looked like. It was published in 1971. My kids all loved these books as do my grandkids now. One of all our favourites, is Mr. Noisy. Published ...

Goodnight Mr Tom - My Favourite Book
Advantages: Well Written And A Great Story Line Disadvantages: Its A Tear Jerker
Goodnight Mr Tom is a book my mum gave me when I was younger and still to this day its my favourite book and one that I never bore of reading. The book was written by Michelle Magorian and has been in circulation since 1981. I first read this book when I was 12 but to be honest I think its one that should be viewed by parents before allowing their child to read it as it does contain some uncomfortable but powerful reading. The book tells the story ... ...central London to the country where he is boarded with a older widowed male called Tom Oakley. As time goes by and the two begin to build a close friendship and trust it becomes clear to Tom that Willie has had a hard life and faced with severe abuse both physically and mentally from his mother. Just when things look like they life is eventually going well for William his mother requests that he is returned. William has to leave his friends and Tom, ...

Lets summon a demon
Advantages: everything Disadvantages: none
The Bartimaeus Trilogy is a "young adult" fantasy series by British author Jonathan Stroud. Book one, The Amulet of Samarkand, was published in September 2003. It is soon supposed to be made into a film Miramax has said and John Madden will be directing.
The book is set mostly in and around London, apparently in the modern times. The technology seems fairly modern; they have cars, planes, electric lights and computers. On the other hand, sailing ... ...travel, with "ironclads" being the most advanced naval technology. The England of this world is ruled by magicians; commoners are kept in line by fear, propaganda, and ignorance (literacy is not encouraged except for those planning to pursue white-collar careers). However, the magicians' magical power consists solely in their ability to summon, bind and control various types of spirits, and to create magical artifacts to do the same. The spirits ...

Untamed un-moving
Advantages: Enjoyable, easy to read Disadvantages: Too obviously part of a series - wouldn't be good as a stand alone book
Untamed is book number 4 in mother and daughter team P.C. and Kristin Cast's House of night saga. I bought my copy for £3.74 new from Amazon, but the jacket price is £6.99, as with most books now, if you shop around you are pretty much guaranteed to get a deal on it, and I know that it's much cheaper used. At present the first five books are available, the sixth (Tempted) was released in hardcover on October 27th 2009, and should be available in ... ...had to keep, and as Untamed begins she is feeling lonely, and it looks as if she's permanently sabotaged her friendships. Aphrodite is still having her visions, and Zoey finds her after one of these in a real mess: Aphrodite had foreseen Zoey's death, in not just one but two ways. These visions highlight the importance of Zoey making up with her friends and not being isolated. These visions give Zoey the push she needs to apologise, and as in all ...
