How do you survive sunmmer camp?
Review of How to Survive Summer Camp - Jacqueline Wilson by amyismad

Advantages: very amusing and comical
Disadvantages: quite boring tends to drag on

I don't want to bore you to death so I will keep this short and sweet. This book wasn’t as good as Jacqueline Wilson's other books , I should know as I am her biggest fan and have read all her books. I found it a little bit boring as it trailed on but it was also very amusing and comical. This book contains 164 pages and some hilarious illustrations, illustrated by Sue Heap. The main character of this book is Stella, a young girl who has been dumped ...
...go off on there Swanky honey moon. Stella isn’t very happy about this and assumes that she isn’t going to like it, and at first she definitely doesn't as she has to share a room with 2 snobby horrible girls and is made take terrifying swimming lessons with Uncle Pong the organiser of all events. Something happens that changes all this around. I will not give away the end but What I will say is that this book only costs about £3.99 so I would advise ... Read review

A well-loved children's classic
Review of The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Eric Carle by sheri3004

Advantages: One to return to again and again (and again......)
Disadvantages: None

"In the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a leaf…." I can recite the whole thing (well, maybe getting a little confused with the order of the different foods) and I bet I'm far from the only one! The Very Hungry Caterpillar has been around for a loooong time - nearly as long as I have, in fact, and that's ages - and is rightly regarded as a children's classic, which has been translated into over 50 languages. Apparently, a copy is sold every ...
...George W Bush has listed the book among his favourites from when he was growing up… a statement which raised a few eyebrows as he was, in fact, twenty-three when the book was first published in 1969. ~The Author~ Author and illustrator Eric Carle was born in 1929 - The Very Hungry Caterpillar is his best known book, but he has also written and illustrated many others, over 70 in total. Carle was born in Syracuse, New York to German emigrant parents, ... Read review

I spy with my little eye...
Review of Spying Eyes: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - Nancy Holder by Amy69

Advantages: gripping, strong characters
Disadvantages: not for everybody!

When the pack of books I purchased from eBay finally arrived, I was delighted by the sight of the pile of Sabrina books sitting on the desk. The problem, however, came when I had to choose one to begin reading! They all looked fantastic, I couldn't work out which I wanted to start with! In the end, I opted for one with all three Spellman witches on the cover; I guessed it would have a lot of Sabrina's Aunts in it, which I found I always preferred ...
...I sat myself down, and turned the first page of 'Spying Eyes'… So, who is Sabrina? Sabrina, played by actress Melissa Joan Hart, is a teenage witch living in the mortal realm in America, initially with her two Aunts; Hilda and Zelda, and her pet cat Salem (whom was once a warlock sentenced to 100 years as a house pet for attempted world domination). Now, she attends Westbridge High with her friends Harvey and Valerie. Sabrina the Teenage Witch ... Read review

Review of Cherub The Recruit - Robert Muchamore by lisa8871

Advantages: A really well written book for kids
Disadvantages: Only for older readers

...is the first in the Cherub series and was published in 2004, to date he has written 10 Cherub books with the 11th to be released in September. WHAT ARE CHERUBS? Cherubs are basically a national secret; they are children who are trained to be spies. This started in World War 2 when a British spy called Charles Henderson worked in France helping the resistance; he saw how they used children and teenagers to work as messengers and scouts. Firesong..The last one.
Review of Firesong - William Nicholson by lil.miss.jellybaybee

Advantages: Amazing finsh to a great trilogy.
Disadvantages: None:)

A really amazing end to a fantastic trilogy. I have to say, io was disappointed it was over. By far the most heartfelt of all the books which made my want to cry at times. Yet, whilst all the characters are finally together again, you have to let a few of them go as they die. After reading the previous books where you have become rather attatched to their complex realistic lives, it is hard to let some of them go. As the characters battle many obstacles ... Read review
