Learning how to draw.
Review of How to Draw Princesses and Ballerinas - Fiona Watt by
neenn
Advantages: Great for fans of ballerinas and princesses. The stickers!!
Disadvantages: Some of the drawings are too intricate.
...of what to draw and how to draw it is helpful but the drawings although initially look quite child-like and simple aren't that easy for young children to copy from (unless they are particularly artistically gifted!) and are quite obviously done by adults.
Saying that, she has had lots of pleasure in making many of the simpler princesses and ballerinas and more so with the stickers which she has used on a number of her individual masterpieces!!
... ...I have listed below:
How to draw……
~ Fairies and Mermaids
~ Animals
~ Trucks and Tractors
~ Dinosaurs
~ Christmas
ΔΔΔ Final Thoughts ΔΔΔ
Most Usborne Activities books are a great buy for any adult who is looking for inspiration in fun arts and crafts activities. This is a lovely book for any child who is mad about ballerinas and princesses. Despite the little gripe I mentioned earlier in the review, it would ...

How do you survive sunmmer camp?
Review of How to Survive Summer Camp - Jacqueline Wilson by
amyismad
Advantages: very amusing and comical
Disadvantages: quite boring tends to drag on
I don't want to bore you to death so I will keep this short and sweet. This book wasn’t as good as Jacqueline Wilson's other books , I should know as I am her biggest fan and have read all her books. I found it a little bit boring as it trailed on but it was also very amusing and comical. This book contains 164 pages and some hilarious illustrations, illustrated by Sue Heap. The main character of this book is Stella, a young girl who has been dumped ... ...go off on there Swanky honey moon.
Stella isn’t very happy about this and assumes that she isn’t going to like it, and at first she definitely doesn't as she has to share a room with 2 snobby horrible girls and is made take terrifying swimming lessons with Uncle Pong the organiser of all events. Something happens that changes all this around.
I will not give away the end but What I will say is that this book only costs about £3.99 so I would advise ...

danielalong
Advantages: Lots of good ideas
Disadvantages: What we need at the beginning of each make please
How to draw dinosaurs
Another book from the Usborne range, and this time sure to appeal to Little Miss- crafty ideas with dinosaurs as the main focus!
THE BOOK
The book has a rather appealing front cover, with smiling dinosaurs featuring rather strongly!
We find a list of the contents, and then with no further preamble are straight into the "makes".
There are 17 dinosaur makes in all, and with ideas such as cartoon Dinosaurs, Prehistoric swamp, ... ...publishing

OTHER HOW TO DRAW BOOKS
There are other books in the same series, and since we have a few of them, I can vouch that they are of the same high quality
The books include:
How to draw:
Animals
Christmas
Princesses and Ballerinas
Trucks and Tractors
VERDICT
Another good book from Usborne. The instructions are clearly laid out step by step and the illustrations are fun and appeal to children. The makes usually ...

my over inflated ego - deflated
Review of Harry and the Dinosaurs Play Hide and Seek - Ian Whybrow by
cfranklyn
Advantages: good plot with a moral lesson accessible by children
Disadvantages: dinosaur names not appropriate for under 5s
...the characters, apart from Harry are dinosaurs and as such carry the name of their species. so we find brontosaurus, tyrranosaurus and so on. these are the simple ones but at the end of a long day it is these names that catch you out every time. i found myself reading and looking up the pronunciation of these names so that i didn't look a complete fool. as a man and a teacher my over inflated ego was really at stake. so to conclude the book is good, ...

Learning to Draw
Review of How to Draw Fairies and Mermaids - Fiona Watt by

Advantages: Step by step guide, lots of ideas
Disadvantages: Some of the artwork is too intricate for under 5s.

Although pleased with her efforts my niece sometimes became a little frustrated when she said that hers didn’t look as good or pretty as the ones in the book. Obviously praise was given etc but ... ...gives helpful little tips on how to extend your artwork, for example for the diving mermaids they suggest that you paint some natural shells and glue them on to the page, add little crowns to fairies by cutting out foil.
It also gave both of us some helpful tips on drawing, I include myself as I am a self-confessed hopeless artist!
