...she absolutely loved it. The illustrations are still the same. In fact, it was read so much, we still know most of the dialoue by heart. The story is very simple. Sophie and her mum were having tea one evening when there was a knock at the door. After failing to guess who it may be, Sophie opens the door and there is a "big, furry, stripy tiger". The tiger comes in for tea and over the next few pages eats everything on the table, in the fridge and ...
...find including "all the water in the tap". When Daddy gets home, they tell him what has happened and he decides they must go out for tea instead. The following day, Sophie and her mum go shopping and they buy lots of food, including, a "very big tin of tiger food." I know it sounds a bit of an odd story, but its a wonderfully simple one which delights children and is an excellent start to introducing the pleasure of reading. ... Read review
