Series of Exciting Events
Review of The End (Series of Unfortunate Events) - Lemony Snicket by
alexthegreat
Advantages: Great storyline, extremely exciting and it just makes you keep listening.
Disadvantages: It can be hard to follow at times.
I love the Series of Unfortunate Events and have done so since I got read the 7th one first for some reason. So this is the 13th (unlucky for some) and last in the series. It is written by Lemony Snicket who has followed the Baudelaires and recorded their stories. He tells the tale of the three siblings; Violet, Klaus and Sunny. Anyone who has read the previous 12 volumes will know that they have been put in some darstadly and sinister situations ... ...occured because of the devious Count Olaf who is after their immense fortune.
It is a very worthy end to the series. It is full of action, horror, suspense and it is quite funny at times.
It is a great read, but it is complicated even if you have read the other 12 but you will need to read them to know what is happening. ...

Austere Academy
Review of The Austere Academy - Lemony Snicket by
jellsmoor
Advantages: Cant put down type of book.
Disadvantages: Makes the reader feel a bit of an idiot.
...occaisionally a bit reppetative.
The Good Points far outwiegh the bad points!
The sort of people that would enjoy this book would probably be the sort of person that enjoyed the following:
Any of the Harry Potter Books by J K Rowling
Phillip Ardaughs books like Awful End
Eva Ibbotsons The Secret of Platform Thirteen
Any of the Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddel including Beyond the Deepwoods and The last Sky Pirate
So overall ... ...seem a little bit wierd if you havnt read the previos ones:
The Bad Beginng
The Reptile Room
The Wide Window
And the Miserable Mill
So read these first before you read this one because they will make it a lot more enjoyable!!
Enjoy ...

More Miserable but Much Better
Review of The Reptile Room - Lemony Snicket by

Advantages: Fast moving plot
Disadvantages: Too Depressing at times
Within these pages the Baudelaire children endure a car accident, a terrible smell, a deadly serpent, a long knife, a large brass reading lamp and the reappearance of someone they hoped that they would never see again.
Characters
Violet: She is the eldest Baudelaire orphan at 14. She likes inventing and made a vow to keep her siblings safe. She always has her hair tied back so that it doesn't get in her way.
Klaus: He is the middle Baudelaire ... ...After freeing themselves from the evil Count Olaf, the Baudelaire orphans are heading for yet another distant relative who they barely know. However, things start to look up when they realise that even though their uncle Monty Montgomery, a herpetologist who here means the studier of snakes, is actually a very nice person.
In 'Book the 2nd' they are driving down Lousy Lane in a cramped car with MR Poe. When they arrive at the house they are very ...
