Thrilling plot
Review of Maximum Security: Bk. 3 (CHERUB) - Robert Muchamore by sxcmonro

Advantages: great characters and plot
Disadvantages: slightly short book could use more pages

Exellent plot and the characters were exellently created with a very good use of imagery. Really gritty and exciting plot which keeps you on the edge of your seat. I personally sat at home for a whole weekend with this book and did not get bored, I was totaly engrosed. I really reccomend this book but you must read the first and the second in the series to really understand the plot. Te audience would most probably be teenagers beacause of the encapturing ... Mallory Towers by Enid Blyton
Review of Mallory Towers - Enid Blyton by SebastiansMommy

Advantages: Enid Blyton
Disadvantages: old English language used. i.e. the use of "shillings" etc.

...classmates in their adventures at Mallory Towers each term by reading these marvellous stories created by Enid Blyton. From midnight feasts to playing tricks on the ever-unsuspecting and hot-tempered "Mam'zelle" and moonlit swims, each page holds a giggle and makes the imagination come alive. I would say the books are best aimed for children aged 7 years to 11 years, although if you find yourself buying this, you will most likely find yourself reading ... Read review

Do you remember your first wobbly tooth?
Review of My Wobbly Tooth Must Not Ever Never Fall Out - Lauren Child by kingfisher111

Advantages: fun story and pictures
Disadvantages: none!

...do not ever NEVER want my wobbly tooth to fall out. I need it!' Charlie and his friend Marv try to explain what it is like to have a tooth fall out and the fact that the baby teeth need to go to make way for the grown up ones. Marv says it's like mooses getting new antlers. Lola is not happy about this likeness at all and states very firmly - 'But I am not a moose!' However, Lola's attitude about wanting to keep her wobbly tooth for ever starts ...
...always bring a smile to my face, particularly as I can almost hear my daughter saying the same sorts of words. I really think that Lauren Child has an ear for the way children speak and she replicates this so well. There are also many things that you start to recognise once you have read a few Charlie and Lola books. These include the wonderful illustrations on every page - sometimes hand drawn pictures mixed with occasional photos. A lot of the ... Read review

Wings are for Flying!
Review of Mole and the Baby Bird - Alison Newman by Librelola

Advantages: Nice story with a little message to convey!
Disadvantages: I suppose none!

...a pet. Thankfully, in Mole and the Baby Bird, Mole opts for the latter of the three. ************************************** The Book was written by Marjorie Newman and illustrated by Patrick Benson. Amazon sell it for £4.79 (soft cover) and it seems that you can also get it for as little as £0.55 used from the same site! It is aimed at children aged 3 years and over. ************************************* The story unfolds thus: Mole finds ...
...does. So the kind Mole takes the little bird home and makes a special nest for him, then proceeds to show it to both his parents, both of whom tell him that it's very hard to care for a bird (which is very true, have you ever spent an afternoon digging up worms from the garden and tried to stuff them down a tiny bird's throat? - I have. It didn't work). However, it so happens that this little bird did make it. It grew. "It's my pet bird," said ... Read review

Perfect for kids
Review of Mrs Wobble the Waitress (Happy Families) - Allan Ahlberg by streetsmart

Advantages: Good for kids to read
Disadvantages: none

Mrs Wobble always wobbles and do lots of mistakes in her restaurant. Then her family came up and they have strated their new restaurant. Their kids help Mrs Wobble, but she wobbles a lot so her kids wear skates and catch the food plates which was about to fall by Mrs wobble when she Wobbles and save their restaurant. Its a story about nice cooperation between a family. I am fond of all Happy families series and my kid too. The pictures used in this ...
...speech bubbles with people saying things, which makes it like a comic book. One of the pictures even shows their menu. The actual story is very well written and uses easy, understandle language which is perfect for small childrens when we read for them. It is a perfect book to read to your children because it is reasonably short and every page has a picture on it which attracts them and with pictures they can understand the situation easily. The ...
